Again The Magic (Wallflowers Prequel)
Ok, I just finished this last night and it was fabulous! So far it's my favorite of the Wallflower books, I think. It was a bit deeper than the rest and I loved the honest reactions of the characters. *sigh*
Have read this three times, one of my faves! LOVE John McKenna!

This has got to be up there with one of my faves...the only one I have read 3 times, so maybe I should count it as my fave. Anyway, McKenna is delish, sweet, and perfect! I actually cried while reaading this book. Felt like an ass, but yes, the tears were flowing!
LOL better to be an ass with someone than alone I guess!
My hubby has accused me of drooling, but to my knowledge that has not happed, but, yes, the tears have flowed!

OK, it's a triple ass read 'cuz I was there, too. *tears up again*Maybe that should be a rating system?
A rating system as in, if we cry we are asses? Or the book was awesome? LMAO
Heidi wrote: "A rating system as in, if we cry we are asses? Or the book was awesome? LMAO"I think if a book is go good it makes you cry, then it is an awesome read. But then we'd have to make a sub catagory for books that are so bad they made us cry... so maybe the 'ass' rating wouldn't work, after all. *sigh*

Oh, I cried too!!!! When he sent her the roses and then went to her and she turned him away... I was sobbing! My heart just broke for him. For them both, actually.

I didn't recall crying the first time I read this book...but it was years and years ago. But my second time which was recently, I bawled like a baby. Couldn't stop crying. It's intense, and so lovely.
I have been waiting to get this book for almost a month now from someone on Paperback Swap. It's really frustrating, since I wanted to read it before the rest of the Wallflowers books, and it's not available at my local Borders. :(
Does your local library have it Holly?

I bought mine on ebay.....I am an ebay junkie!

Heidi wrote: "I bought mine on ebay.....I am an ebay junkie!"I've had pretty good luck on eBay and half.com but the last order I placed on half.com, the seller took forever shipping it even though they 'notified' half that it had been shipped immediately and the book was listed as Brand New so I paid a few extra dollars for it. Well, the cover and the jacket was perfect, but right in the middle of the book a page was torn which I thought... eh, ok. No problem. But when I mentioned it to the seller they were horribly rude about it. Asked if I was going to put it in a museum or read it, and said that even brand new books off the shelves are damaged.
Heidi,I'm on the waiting list at the library for it.
That experience you had on half.com sounds very frustrating. I haven't used ebay in ages after some nightmare experiences of my own.
I usually buy my books through PaperbackSwap.com, but this isn't the first time i've had problems with an order on there. My biggest gripe with them, is that they allow so much time to pass between the seller listing the books as being shipped, and when you can contact them about a problem...something like 4 weeks. For an impatient person like me, that's an eternity LOL

That was me, not Heidi. I just didn't want there to be any confusion. I'm still stinging over that episode... I need to just let it go, for my own sanity, but it's irking me.

Oops, sorry Dhestiny!
I can understand that episode getting under your skin. I always try and treat people with respect, so it's disappointing when others do not do the same.

Mariel wrote: "I just read this this morning and really loved it. Mckenna is an instant favorite. I loved the emotional honesty of the characters. I went on and on in my review about how I loved the way McKenna reacted when she finally told him the truth. He didn't just pat her on the head and say "That's ok, we'll get past this" Nope, he unloaded all the pain he had felt, the despair... and rightfully so. That is what made this such a great read... that honesty.

I felt that Aline and McKenna lost some important face time for Gideon/Olivia's story. I was disappointed about that.

Loved this book & meeting Lord Westcliff's sisters! I also would have preferred if Aline & Livia each had their own book.
Most people feel the same way. I was just happy that we got a better story for Olivia as a secondary HEA than you usually get in a novel.
Just read this one recently and have to say that its my favorite LK book so far! I loved McKenna's reaction when he found out Alina's secret. One of the best scenes is when Alina keeps trying to push him away and make him believe that she doesn't love him.....It killed me when he told her, "It's okay. I love you enough for the both of us." This book was so emotional and so so sweet. Loved every second of it.
I LOVED McKenna's reaction. It was honest, and totally in keeping with what I would expect from a man who was about to lose the love of his life because of her stubbornness.
Yeah, that book has one of the most touching, heart-wrenching moments ever. It's really moving when you read about two people who love each other for so long and still so strongly after being separated that long. McKenna is a favourite of mine in the long list of LK's awesome heroes!
What can I say after all the previous posts. A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL .... book which I can read over and over again.
Loved this one. I can see why people didn't care for the secondary story, but I didn't really have any expectations going in when I first read this way back, so I didn't mind the brevity of the two romances. Livia and Shaw were believable too, maybe more believable than the main couple. I can see an alcoholic hero more easily than a heroine stubborn because she was burned in a freakish accident. (Even though Livia and Shaw had some rather modern encounters.
) I was happy for them. ;_; They healed each other. *sniff*

I was quite impressed by how well developed Livia and Shaw's story was for a secondary line. I know many people said they felt like they were cheated as readers for some reason, but I felt like I got 2 great HEAs for the price of 1!
McKenna is my favourite hero out of all romance novels. If I found a real life John McKenna there is a 99% chance I would be a stalker.
Tanith wrote: "McKenna is my favourite heroe out of all romance novels. If I found a real life John McKenna there is a 99% chance I would be a stalker."uhoh. I'm one of those who preferred Livia and Shaw. I just ended up shouting at Aline and McKenna- TALK to each other!

Yea, I admit, as much as I liked their story, at times it was soo aggravating, it didn't make sense that Aline could love a man who couldn't see past her scars, it was annoying that she kept thinking that.

Yes exactly Naomi and communication is the key- because when I look at my husband and me we always communicate so well- oh, er, well maybe the book is quite plausible!
