I have to say, this is my favorite of the Travis series so far. I'm not sure why, exactly. Usually I don't like the 'you're the father of this baby' stories.Maybe it was because of Jack...
I read a few books that were just okay and then I picked this one up a few weeks ago and boy it reminded me that there are still books out there that make you have pleasant dreams. I looooved Jack!!!!

I think I may be in the minority, but I really didn't like this series. I did like the heroes, especially Jack, but there were too many things I didn't like about the rest of the books - first person, Liberty is the only heroine I liked, I didn't like Haven, and hated Ella the most.I'm sorry!! Will prepare to duck as others throw things my direction! lol
At work we have a nursing and medical library and a small fiction section. I sometimes sit in the library after lunch for a bit of peace and quiet. I noticed one of the 'seasons' book on display so I picked it up and was skimming through it and thought it looked liked a easy, fun and guilty pleasure read.I then continued to the read the rest of series and then began the time of day series. The librarian asked if I had noticed contemporary read STS, which I had not. So I read that one. If I had STS first I would not have read the rest of her novels, it would have put me of the author.
Have read not read 'Sugar Daddy' but I will at some point, but I really loved 'Blue Eyed Devil'
I own the series and am so excited that Lisa Kleypas is writing a 4th installment for Joe Travis! I have read the books several times over, and am in love with all the heroes. However, Jack is my favorite. I like that he is self-assured border-line arrogant. That is SUCH a turn on for me in men. As a headstrong woman myself, much like Ella, I have to have a man who I can respect, and who respects me but puts me in my place when needed. I also love that Jack is witty, funny, outrageous, intense, a man's man, and baggage free therefore light at heart. Jack is portrayed throughout the series as engaging and enjoying children, there's also a part in book one where Jack reacts in mock horror to a warning look from older brother Gage. It makes me laugh imagining him doing that and hints at what a funny lighthearted guy he is. ;) The best part is he is so much like my husband! Yeow!I also love Ella despite that many fans do not like her. She reminds me of me! Though I can't empathize with the wannabe vegan/tree hugger thing, I love that she tries to support her man. I love that she is loyal to Dane despite that he is so not my idea of a man lol--but he IS her man and has been in a relationship with him for 4 years. Despite the major issue that occurs between them she does not go running into Jack's arms right away. She tries to save her relationship. After all she wasn't looking for a new man, though Jack has other plans. I love that she handles Jack and that he handles her. It's mutual. At the same time, she's her own person and doesn't let him overrun her.
Jack Travis -- one of my absolute favorite Heroes. Definitely right up there in my all-time Top 5!He's just......AWESOME!
I know some people didn't enjoy the book, but for me it's like 4th of July fireworks every time I read it!
If Joe's story is even half as good, it will be a winner!
just re-read the series in prep for Brown Eyed Girl next month. This was the book that had me started on her. hope BEG and her new historical are going to be awesome. after the whole Friday harbor series letdown (never thought I'd say that) I'm aching for some good stuff from her

***Jack Travis leads the uncomplicated life of a millionaire Texas playboy. He makes no commitments, he loves many women, he lives for pleasure. But no one has ever truly touched his heart or soul. Until one day, a woman appears on his doorstep with fury on her face and a baby in her arms. It seems Jack is the father and this woman is the baby’s aunt. The real mother has abandoned the child to her more responsible sister. And now, Jack is being called upon to take responsibility for the first time in his life. With delicious romantic tension, characters so real they walk onto the page and into your heart, Lisa Kleypas delivers the kind of novel that makes you laugh, love; cry and cheer. ***
