Harry, Harry, Harry... So ruthless, manipulative and obsessed! One of my top favorite heroes, no question about it.
I love hero's who view themselves as the villian. Dina you said it perfectly..."ruthless, manipulative and obsessed"!

@Danielle: He might be my favorite Kleypas hero. Although that might just be because he's my most recent. Some people have likened him to Derek Craven, but I like Harry more.

Wow! That's saying something. I know how much I love Derek, and I know you're a big St. Vincent fan. He must be magic!
Harry is a little bit of a stinker! But such a cute and adorable one!!! I thought Tempt Me At Midnight was outstanding and might be my favorite of this series.

Okay Jayne, I finally had to Google Richard Armitage since you compared him to our Harry....good choice!! And what version of North and South is this? All this time I thought y'all were talking about the old Patrick Swayze Civil War miniseries! duh!
Oh, no, NOT the Civil War North and South!Amar, you MUST WATCH the BBC miniseries of North and South based on the classic by Elizabeth Gaskell! It is a fantastic miniseries and you will absolutely fall in love with John Thornton (played by Richard Armitage) as many of us here have. ^_^

If you look on the "Who Would You Cast" thread, I posted a description of Harry Rutledge from TMAT with some yummy pix of him. As I was reading that description when reading the book, I felt it had absolutely described Richard Armitage. I can't seem to access that thread right now though and can't move the description here. I also recently posted some yummy pix of him on the "What Are You Reading Now" thread, I think.
Actually, for easy reference, I think I'll post the images of my Harry here. *sighs* ^_^Description of Harry Rutledge: "He had heavy, well-cut hair, black as midnight, and a fair complexion in which his dark brows stood out in striking contrast. And he was handsome as Lucifer, his brows strong, his nose straight and defined, the mouth brooding. The angle of his jaw was sharp, tenacious, anchoring the grave features of a man who took everything - including himself - too seriously" (pg. 12 Tempt Me at Twilight)

I have a feeling that Harry is going to be one of my favorite LK heroes. I can't imagine him topping St. Vincent, but he might. So far, it's love!

Harry is a very interesting hero. I think LK did a great job with him. My feelings for him ran the gamut. At times, I didn't like him, but I love him very much. He's definitely one of the faves!
Lady Jayne, Perfect job on the Harry pics. I totally agree and some of the way the character Armitage played in North and South acted and his mannerisms also seem like Harry. I wish they'd make some LK's books into movies.
has anyone noticed some similarities in character between Harry Rutledge and Prince Nicolas. I'm not saying they are carbon copies or standard characters but they were both highly manipulative, collectors and difficult family histories leading to trust issues.
I haven't been here in a while. Kelly, you didn't like North and South? Really??? Why?? I love that miniseries! And yes, Richard is VERY swoon-worthy. ^_^
Robin, I agree about some of the mannerisms of how Richard Armitage played Jon Thornton in N&S was like Harry Rutledge. That's why, for me, Harry Rutledge = Richard Armitage. ^_^
Mshj wrote: "has anyone noticed some similarities in character between Harry Rutledge and Prince Nicolas. I'm not saying they are carbon copies or standard characters but they were both highly manipulative, co..."Mshj, I haven't yet read Prince of Dreams so I can't say. Sorry!
The expressions of "Harry Rutledge". ^_^
But it is his look of love and tenderness that is best of all! ^_^

Hmm. I think of Prince Nikolas as more of a 'bad man' out of choice. Harry, is who he is because of his upbringing and what he's suffered. I do think they are both some of LK's most edgy heroes.

Omg bwaha! You guys are spot on. I had Richard Armitage in my head as Harry while reading the book. I did not know the actor's name but I know of him I've seen him in RH series so I kept picturing his face. He's perfect for Harry. The dark serious scowl and those startling clear sharp green eyes. Wooooh! I'm a sucker for dark-haired guys with light eyes plus the brooding attitude. Gah. Just that description of Harry from the book sucked me in completely.
To me he wasn't perfect and almost villanious at times but I understood him and really loved the character.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I looked for every movie I could find with him in it after I saw North and South. He would be ... Perfect.
Faithmarie wrote: "OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I looked for every movie I could find with him in it after I saw North and South. He would be ... Perfect."He also stars in the last few series of Spooks (in the US it is called MI5).
Is it any good???? Can I get it here in the us?

Yep - before you buy you should know that there isn't any romance (well- not that I can remember) just so you know that it is all about the MI5 spy network.
Oh well..... I watched robin hood and he was in it..... I wanted him for marian!!!!
Faithmarie wrote: "Oh well..... I watched robin hood and he was in it..... I wanted him for marian!!!!"Oh yes- he was Guy of Gisborne I think? I didn't follow it myself.
Yupper!!! I only watched it for HIM!!!!!! Other wise it..... was not that good. Well I mean if I was rooting for the bad guy to get the girl there must have been something wrong..... or maybe just with me.

I totally agree with you about Robin Hood, Faithmarie. I found the guy who played Robin Hood a pathetic shadow of a man compared to Richard Armitage (no offense to any fans of his).Regarding MI-5, it's a bit dry. I watch it mainly to drool over RA, and Rupert Penry-Jones when he's on. I also loved David Oyelowo when he was on there.
