Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 380 comments Absolutely! He's so sweet and sexy at the same time. It broke my heart when Aline's father made her send him away.

Laura (laurastamps) I'm reading this one right now and mentioned in another group I am amazed the plot of this book reminds me so much of "Wuthering Heights." The h/h grow up together as kids, fall in love as teens, but he is poor and she is not so they can't marry. Then a disaster happens when they are found out & he is forced to leave. He comes back a decade later wealthy and seeking revenge against the heroine for the angst he suffered when he was forced to leave.

I'm really enjoying it so far. Love the fact a subplot involves her sister Livia. What fun!

Auntee | 152 comments McKenna!! Loved him! So you're enjoying it Laura?
I think I need to read "Wuthering Heights"...or see the movie...:)

Laura (laurastamps) Yes, Auntee, I am enjoying it very much! I like it better than "Wuthering Heights" (too much angst in that one). If you see the movie see the old b&w one with Lawrence Olivier as Heathcliff. WOW!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I have a theory that LK does her books with her eye towards classic works of fiction (but with a happy ending). I saw some shades of Little Women in Mine Till Midnight. I know it's a movie, but I thought that Stranger in My Arms was her version of Sommersby/The Return of Martin Guerre. It's interesting that you saw this as being like Wuthering Heights, Laura. Kind of validates my nascent theory. I'm waiting for her to do Jane Eyre. :)

Shelly (shellye77) Tess - her new contemporary series is not in first person POV, I didn't care for them either. But I did read Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor and I highly recommend it! It's a novella, so it's not a huge investment in time. I love her historicals more, but I will be reading Rainshadow Road when it comes out!
