Catherine (catarinacanhota) | 52 comments I don't have a favorite, but Anansi Boys comes to mind as something that stuck with me. I wouldn't have even known about it if a young cousin hadn't mentioned it on goodreads, so for that I thank him!

message 16: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) I read a lot of good books in '09 but the one that really stands out for me is Restoration by Rose Tremain. It was just...breathtaking. I later watched the movie which in spite of a valiant performance by Robert Downey Jr. didn't come close to the beauty of the novel.

I agree.

Murray M. Silver | 3 comments Do you read non-fiction as opposed to fiction?

Mary (madamefifi) Murray wrote: "Do you read non-fiction as opposed to fiction?"

I don't know to whom this question is addressed but I personally read both fiction and nonfiction.

Catherine (catarinacanhota) | 52 comments Murray wrote: "Do you read non-fiction as opposed to fiction?"

I read both, but when I need to relax, fiction is my preference.

message 20: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthas48) I also read both. Fiction preference is mystery, but read several genres if it's a good story. Non-ficion preference is history, biography. Particularly American history/war years. My favorite times are Revolutionary & Civil Wars & WWII. Lately have read some posts that have convinced me to delve into WWI.
