Do not post anything that gives stuff away. Lets try to keep this thread spoiler-free.

I just started it today, and if I post stuff in here, I don't want to come in and find out the ending of the book before we get there...

I have a book by W.H. Auden, but can't find it. I'm pretty sure Mrs. Sypel will show you some of his works next year - most notibly "Funeral Blues" which is beautiful.

Maybe I'll bring in "The Unknown Citizen" to share... I think that was the name of it anyway.

Those of you who are reading, or have read the book may or may not know what I'm talking about.

That's a great idea, Mr. H.
I love the way the characters are developing in this novel! It's so easy to connect with them.

Brittney | 288 comments I realized that so far in all the Sarah Dessen books I have read, all of the main characters moms' are all authors and all the books have "Quik Zips". Pretty cool eh!?

That's a great observation. I guess when you're an author you've gotta stick with what you know... I bet it's easier for Dessen to make the mothers authors since she's one herself.

I haven't read any of her other books, but this makes me wonder whether she uses a lot of literary references in her other books like she does with this one.

Auden's parents are a little over the top, though!! Okay, maybe they're a lot over the top.

Liz | 3 comments Ug... I know... and I hate how the mom acts so superior. They both seem so selfish.
