Chris Cutler | 2 comments In HOA we learned a lot about Preservation/Ruin, etc. I am trying to remember if it was ever established why the mists can't come inside. I looked over the forums at timewastersguide but didn't see anything relevant. Anyone know?

Actually, now that I think about it, NO! It was never explained. Let me know if you find out any thing Chris.

Jeff Diamond | 9 comments that's it! You've ruined the books for me FOREVER!!! :)

Mike | 23 comments I just began rereading Mistborn and the Mists do come inside through open doors and windows. They just don't seem to be inside when everything is closed off to it.

Jeff Diamond | 9 comments But it seems like something was mentioned about the Mists not doing that before. Almost like they have a sentience, and they are more daring now than they used to.

Chris Cutler | 2 comments I cornered Brandon at the Provo Library today and asked him about it. He said the reason he put it in initially was to emphasize the supernatural quality of the Mists, but there is a reason. He hasn't explained it in the books yet, but if he ends up writing a second trilogy, like he wants to, he will have a lot to reveal about the Mists--including the indoor issue.

Camilla | 72 comments Do you think he was just avoiding you? That's sounds like "I don't know", but in writer language....

message 8: by Karibou (new)

Karibou | 6 comments The light makes them go away or something? Or maybe the reason he never addressed it was because the characters in the book didn't know or just took it for granted? Another question about mists, what do people imagine them like? For example, what color are they in your mind. Yes, the author most probably said this, but things change once they are inside the reader's mind...

You CORNERED Brandon Sanderson?!
I am so freaking jealous!

Jacob (kurohomura) | 25 comments I'd give a lot to be able to talk to him.

Caleb (caleb27) | 109 comments Now that I think of it, this could be occurring because the metal indoors repelled it. Seeing as Ruin could use metal to interact with others, he may have some relationship with it to force back Preservation’s power.

Lou (notlou) | 2 comments Good news, there is a second trilogy so we should get an answer soon

message 13: by Peter (new)

Peter | 21 comments It is not finished yet. The last book in series is still to be written. There is a BIG chance that BranSan will start and hopefully finish it next year.
