I noticed that there was no topic for my favorite country. I do have a few suggestions for anyone looking.

Sightseeing by Rattawut Lapcharoensap. A great book full of short stories that bring my back to the past.

Bangkok Tattoo by John Burdett. A Thai detective mystery read.

4,000 Days: My Life and Survival in a Bangkok Prison by Warren Fellows. It is hard to sleep after reading about this prison.

I know I seen Burdetts new book on my Barnes and Noble app. I didn't know he was writting another, so, I was pleasently surprised! I'll have to look into Somtow.

Wow, that is great! If you don't mind me asking, what takes you to Bangkok? I plan being there for May to early June. Yes, please let me know if you find someone. Travel safe and goodluck not being placed near loud children during the long travel so you can read :-)

I love Cambodia as well. Yummy food and fun markets. Be safe and stay on all the paths, there are still tons of land minds still buried all over Cambodia. When I lived in Thailand I lived about an 1 1/2 hours from and Cambodia and an 1 from Laos.

Sub bud dee is How are in you? in Cambodian. I never forget it because when you say it sounds like somebody.

Emma Deplores Goodreads Censorship (emmadeploresgoodreadscensorship) | 11 comments Four Reigns. Chronicles the life of a Thai woman from the late 19th century until right after WW2. Not a lot of plot but really engaging all the time, and it has great cultural detail.

I have this on my shelf at home, ready for when I get to Thailand!
