Lee (kahi) I received my Oberon Design case for my Nook today and can not recommend it enough. The case looks fantastic and feels great while reading.

Vikkie (mombarded) Holy Moley. That looks amazing. I have just been looking at BN.com - was actually going to order a case tonight. But I'm going to hold off and look at other options.

Vikkie (mombarded) I ordered an Oberon last night. Can't wait to get mine in. I got the red river one. Looks beautiful.

Lee (kahi) seriously the fact that people are paying $30/$40 for synthetic leather is crazy. Pay the $75 for an Oberon case, real leather is so comfortable to hold. The case really turns heads too, I have had a lot of people who have just wanted to admire the case at a local coffee shop I frequent to read.

Lee (kahi) P.S. you got your nook yesterday right? how are you liking it so far?

message 6: by Vikkie (new)

Vikkie (mombarded) I'm absolutely stoked!

I finally got my Nook last night - and I'm just...floored. Bought my first book, loaded a few I had already - just...love it. Completely adore it.

And my Oberon case is coming Thursday! Will post pictures as well =D Totally glad I splurged on one case, instead of being my typical self and buying 3 different ones, which ultimately would have cost me more.

David Tolson (detolson) | 21 comments Congrats Liv on getting the Nook... get used to turning pages with one thumb. I have found I actually read faster with the Nook. Has anyone else felt this way as well?

Being the practical guy I am, I bought a sturdy, wetsuit material kind of cover for my Nook which has paid for itself already in a couple of 'drops.' However, after seeing the Oberon pics and reviews I am thinking of self "gifting" one.

Lee, Liv... have you dropped your Nook while Oberonly encased? Does it protect well in addition to being classy?

Thanks

Elisa (elisatodd) | 23 comments I have the Bronte case, I like the canvas feel and the fact that you an put a picture of your choice in the front. But I don't like that it isnt as easy to fold back as the cover I had on the kindle I was using (my sister's) It's just a bit too thick in the binding.
Although for now, I will stick with it.

I don't think I've ever dropped any of my devices *knock on wood*

Vikkie (mombarded) Well, just got my Oberon Case - and I'm absolutely floored.

This case is stunning. I'm in love - never will use anything else.

Instead of buying 2+ Barnes & Noble cases, invest in one of these, and you will never switch. Will post pictures later. Love it.

Susie | 20 comments Well, Oberon will be happy with this group. I just ordered a case also! My Nook came in today, earlier than expected, and I haven't put it down. I haven't yet figured out all of the features, but it is user friendly. All of your comments have been most helpful.

Susie | 20 comments My Oberon nook case came in today. It is as nice as I had hoped. The company included extra "bungee" cords and a charm. I am impressed with a company that gives more than expected!

Janet H | 11 comments I ordered my Oberon nook case and should receive it today. These look just amazing, especially considering what the leather covers cost on the B&N site. I'm thinking this will be worth the investment. (I got the blue butterfly).

Steven Taylor (thumbscrews) | 3 comments Is this the same case I saw in person? My wife asked me if I wanted one of these for Valentine's Day, I said maybe since I only see one real problem with it (besides price). Over time, real leather will start to crack, fade, and crumble from wear (especially around the edges)... Of course, this could probably be prevented w/ leather treatment of some kind (perhaps lemon oil). I have a couple of days to giver her my answer on getting one of these.

message 15: by Lee (new)

Lee (kahi) yeah, and of course you are supposed to treat leather every so often but you can never beat real leather. There is an info sheet that will come with your order that includes treatment instructions.

message 16: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I want a new case I bought one of the B&N ones when I got my nook but now that one was a lower price and boring but felt it was the safe one to go with. Now I want one of these. but I'm not crazy about buying it online so might call the number when and if I do decide to buy it. I know it's more expensive than I should spend for a second case but it looks so worth it. Well really the gift certificate I got when I bought the nook really paid for my original case. Then the next decision once I decide to get one is what beautiful cover to buy.

Lori {Romancing the Dark Side} (romancingthedarkside) That's a beautiful case! I have a silicone case on my Nook now I bought at B&N but definitely need to check out the store and see what new ones they have.

I've been looking at the Oberon cases - but I really want a cover that will fold back flat. I hope Oberon will offer one that folds back sometime soon.

message 19: by TheThirdLie (new)

TheThirdLie I still need to email them and ask about cases in faux leather... though I'm not sure I like how the nook is fitted in the case. I like when the bottom of the case is like a pocket - that seems much more secure. I watched the video and saw it doesn't come out with a lot of abuse, but I still worry. I also would miss not having an inside pocket to store papers.

message 20: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo That is what I went for with the case I got, Secure. that was the one thing I was looking at when I watched the video. But most of the time I have it in a drawstring bag too. But still things can happen.
