WACC- Writers Against Cardboard Characters discussion

Name: Sidney Anne Marshall (at least I think that's her middle name...?)
Age: 16
Appearence: Really dark brown hair, light brown eyes, medium skin, kinda on the heavy side but she's not, like, HUGE or anything. She's also, *cough* buxom. Plump lips. Big mouth. I'm sorry, but most of my singers tend to have a big mouth and big lips. That's my curse for being a Stones fan. I can't help it.

Things you know about the character so far: She's a little bit goth. She's got a bit of an attitude, but she can be really nice too. She's a pretty good singer, too. She's into a lot of classic rock bands and hard rock too. Basically, if you find it on my iPod, there's a pretty decent chance you'll find it on hers. She's also got a morbid sense of humor.

Things you know about the character's past: Well...idk. I don't want it to be too extremely dramatic. Oh, wait, her once-best-friend kind of hates her because she thinks it's Sid's fault that she and her boyfriend broke up. Sid also hates preppies and cheerleaders (who tend to be preppy, quite honestly), so there's some drama there.

Where you think the character will end up: Falling in love with Vinny Harper's friend Matt Delancey, playing in her high school's battle of the bands competition, making up with her friend.

What you want help with: Uh, past? Quirks, redeeming qualities (so far her taste in music and her sense of humor are the only ones), flaws, fears.

Maybe she fears pineapples. =P

Okay, um, quirks... Maybe she taps her feet or fingers when she's impatient. Or she gets bored easily, so she's always asking what time it is (like Deli in PE!).

Perhaps she...
...hates giving or getting hugs.
...bites people when she's angry. (Hehehe.)
...hates chick flicks and constantly makes fun of them.
...can't dance.
...has a tendency to fall asleep in class.

All of those are so perfect! CRIKEY I love you!

*grins widely* It kind of helps that I've read an entire chapter from Sid's perspective. And that my mind is set to Extremely Random right now. XD

Now, if I could come up with flaws for my OWN characters...

-Chews her nails
-Loves the hand glove fishnets
-Always carrries around a sketchbook to write down song lyrics
-Has a dangly charm bracelet full of things from a mixture of quirky events. Nobody really notices it because she has so many other goth oriented jewlry
-Has an black cat named Nessie after the sea monster of coarse!
-Puts food dye in her milkshakes

Uh... sorry, I don't have that many ideas at the moment. Sorry!

You should make one of your modern day characters totally obsessed with the Beatles or Journey. That would drive me nuts, at least.

I think I'll have her be an alto, so...
