Oh, heck no. Not for me, at least. Life is filled to the max of sad and depressing. Books are absolutely an escapism for me, where I want somewhat of a happy ending with the couple. Now on that same token, I don't want to read a romance where everything is hearts and poppies. But, in the final analysis, I want those two love birds to stay hooked :).
It takes some major convincing on my part. Claiming the Courtesan by Anna Campbell is one that really won me over. Not a favored theme of mine. I also love A Rose at Midnight by Anne Stuart (my favorite author in the world).
Exactly, Danielle! We are absolutely of a similar mind on that account :).-I wonder if I've read Anne Stuart. That name sounds familiar, but since I have touch an horrid memory, I wouldn't know if I've read her unless I browse book covers and scan book synopsis'. In that case I can remember...which is weird, since I can't remember an author's name, but can remember all the other. Eek...WAY off topic ramble & entirely spastic-ness *Laughs*. Sorry all LOL! :) -
No need to apologize. I know I don't remember all the books I read years ago. Anne has a lot of books, so that makes it hard to keep up. I'm glad I started writing down the books I read several years ago. And Thank God for Goodreads!
Wow. Another random similarity...aside from having discovered romance through out mothers. I've been reading romance since I was in seventh grade (2002-3ish) and have always written the author and title of the book down once I completed it. I have NO idea why I did this, and BOY did that come in helpful once I discovered goodreads! I still keep a handwritten list of books I've read updated, but now it's a lot more fun with goodreads, too. And I also go a step further and print out my review and book info and pic to keep in a binder. (I started doing this after my account got hacked here at goodreads. I still don't know HOW the heck I managed to sort it all out, but after changing my password 500 times, it finally stopped acting insane. Every time I'd sign in with my old login, I would be signed in as anyone but myself. It was SO weird...and since then, I've been keeping hard copies of my reviews!)
That's a good idea, J. I can't believe someone hacked your account. That's awful. Sorry to hear that.
Thanks for the sympathies, hon.I was throughly shocked and devastated. I literally cried my eyes out! But thankfully I was able to research my own books on the profiles it kept signing me into, and then after much prayer and changing my password 17 million times, it finally stopped acting funky.
But it all worked itself out okay, since I got the idea to keep hard copies of all my read/reviewed books. It makes it even more enjoyable to me. :) Let's just pray that it doesn't ever happen again!
That's a good idea, anyway. Like a scrapbook. I post most of my reviews on my book blog on Blogger.
Interesting way to see it! Sadly I'm not much of a blogger, although I do occasionally keep my myspace blog updated with random things- not personal, just poems, quotes, ect things I like.Actually, I'm rather obsessive about compilation anything. Especially binders. I have one binder called my Reflection Binder, which has document protectors housing my favorite inspirational/comical quotes, anecdotes, poems, lyrics, my writings/poetry/short stories, favored blog posts by SK, even a printed copy of my grandfathers eulogy.
I also have a similar binder that has every DH profile on SK's site, as well as a graphic binder that houses my favorite artistic and comical graphics found online.
Yes. I am a rather strange egg :)
That's cook, Jacqueline. I used to do that, also. Don't have as much time now. I like the idea.
I started making slide shows in Power Point for my favorite books and characters using actors. It's my virtual scrapbook.

Oh, AWESOME! *Grins like a nerd*Now that is truly original! I like! If there were but more house in the day I would so do that! (24 hours is simply not enough time to divide between reading, goodreads, likebooks, and random compilation hobbies!) *Smiles*
It's a lot of fun, although I haven't had time lately. My mother and I collaborated on some DH slides. I'd like to get back into those.
Oh, nice! I'd love to see those- I bet they'll be awesome when you finish.I have finally talked my mom into reading these books, and she's just now up to the second half of Acheron. (Although she was unable to get through to first half of the book. She emotionally couldn't handle it, so instead I gave her a summary of what happened. Otherwise, she loves this series, too.)
We'll probably have to start over on those, since they were on my old computer. I'd like to give it a new shot, anyway.
Indeed! I think it's an awesome idea/fun project!I'd love to do something like that, but I know it'd bug me to try to find celebrities that equated to how I viewed my DH boys in my head. *Dies laughing at self* :)) I can see it now- staring at the computer screen, yells at Some Random Actor Who I Don't Care Enough About to Begin With, "YOU'RE NOT SAVITAR! QUIT IT YOU PHONY!"...Despite the fact that it was I who copied/pasted Some Random Actor Who I Don't Care Enough About to Begin With's face on the very slide I'm yelling at. :) Problems have much I, indeed!
