Every Friday I'll be spotlighting an author whose books are excellent but seems to be invisible to the masses.

Invisible meaning very little to no publicity, reviews, and is largely unknown to the romance reading public. The author's books cannot be self-published but I do welcome e-books.

Please list your suggestions here.

Thanks,
Bev

Melissa (jedisakora) | 12 comments How about Mary Jo Putney. I never heard of her till someone recommend a book by her too me. She seems to be an author that was famous in the 80/ early 90's, but not many people seem to know of her now.

Wow, I'm not sure I think she's flying under the radar. I think she gets a decent amount of coverage. Let me check that one out.

When I saw she was a New York Times bestseller, I figured enough readers know about her. :)

Carol (lucky47) | 16 comments Samantha, Jennifer Haymore has a couple of really good books out and she writes under the name Dawn Halliday. I'm pretty sure that's the second name. I enjoyed her books. Have to keep an eye on her. :)

My Vote is for Lori Brighton. I just loved Wild Heart and I don't think it's gotten the press it deserves.

Anne OK (anne-ok) | 3 comments One of my very favorite authors is Pamela Clare - both her contemporaries and historicals. I was hooked from Book 1. Clare has the ability to draw you in from the first line in her book. She's a perfectionist when it comes to research and editing. The only negative regarding Clare is she writes slowly. But I have found it doesn't matter to me because the wait is well worth the finished product. If you haven't read a book by Pamela Clare, I hope you'll treat yourself to the experience.

Juli Temple (iowalass) | 8 comments @AnneOK~I LOVE Pamela Clare! She hasn't has any recent books has she??? I remember Untamed and ???Fire. VERY GOOD writing. Found her by accident. Do you know if she has anything new coming out? Jennifer Haymore is wonderful. I have yet to read Kate Noble, Kate Moore or Emily Drake. Sound familiar, but need to get them.

Anne OK (anne-ok) | 3 comments Pamela Clare has a new contemporary coming out in April of 2011 -- I think. Could be later in the summer. It's called "Breaking the Rules." It's one of the I-Team Investigative series books featuring Natalie from the new team. I can't wait. She has also said she's working on another of her historicals but no further information on that one yet.

Grace Elliot (httpwwwgoodreadscomgraceelliot) Look, I dont want to spam or self-promote but I have such faith in my debut novel, 'A Dead Man's Debt' and just need to get the word out!

‘I loved this book from start to finish. It was exciting throughout and the characters were so endearing that you rooted for them all the way through.
As a huge Jane Austen fan, I'm glad to have found an author with a very similar writing style to hers. I'm looking forward to future books from this author.’
5/5 Dagobahbabe (Goodreads)

‘A Dead Man’s Debt’ by Grace Elliot.
Celeste Armitage has a plan…and that plan doesn’t include marriage.
After deliberately humiliating a suitor, Celeste’s despairing parents exile her to the country. But once there she discovers a sketch book of daring nude studies and is shaken to find the artist is her hostess’s eldest son, Lord Ranulf Charing. This darkly cynical lord is exactly the sort of dissipated rogue she despises most…if only her blood didn’t heat at the thought of him…
Nothing is as it seems. Lord Ranulf’s life is a façade. Only he can save the Charing’s from disgrace as a blackmailer seeks to ruin his late brother’s reputation. But just as Ranulf dares to open his heart to Celeste, the fury of his nemesis is unleashed… facing him with the stark choice between true love and family duty. However when Celeste guesses the truth behind his rejection, Ranulf underestimates her resolve to clear his name and in so doing places the woman he loves in mortal danger….

Available from most eBooks stores and at Amazon, why not treat yourself to a dose of escapism?

thanks x
