How about we nominate our favorite books? Books on the topic of writing fiction, non-fiction, the ins and outs of marketing and promotion, and any blogs you might know about that have been a help to you. Sound good?

Who wants to start?

For fiction, I love Sands Hall's book Tools of the Writer's Craft because there a really handy little exercises and discussions on how to build scene, character, etc. I also really love her distinction between summary and narration (rather than telling and showing) and why it's important to use both. I've taken some writing workshops from her and she's the most amazing and inspiring teacher. She really pushes you to make each scene "work" for your overall story.
