Well, I haven't been reading while enjoying at the pub, but I've been having a lot of Troegs Sunshine Pils lately.
I also have not been reading as much as I should outside of blogs since I have recently moved and have not brought up my big stuff such as brew supplies and books, but my beer of the moments have been Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere (I found a place over here that still has it in 6 packs) and Great Lakes Commodore Perry.
Franconia Brewing, run by a Frisco resident from Germany, put out a Kölsch that's spot on for the style. The trick is to get Franconia's beers within the first 12-18 hours of the keg being tapped as it starts to fade.
I'll have to try that. I need to go looking this weekend for something local to really like as well - I'm sure it won't be hard.

Franconia is TX only at the moment, they're a small brewer.
Ohio - Maybe you can find Goose Island beers?
Great Lakes makes some good stuff also.
