Interview with the heroine from The Doctor's Perfect Match by Irene Hannon:

1. Marci Clay, tell me the most interesting thing about you.
Interesting, hmm? Not a word I’d use about myself. At least, not in a good way. To be honest, until a few years ago, I thought of myself as a loser. But I’m happy to say I’ve turned my life around. In fact, I just got my master’s degree in social work. Quite a change from waitressing at Ronnie’s Diner. I guess that transformation is the most interesting thing about me. But not many people are aware of the dramatic change, because I don’t talk a lot about my past. It’s too painful.

2. What do you do for fun?
There hasn’t been a lot of time for fun in my life in recent years. But since coming to Nantucket this summer for my brother, J.C.’s, wedding, I’ve become friends with an older man, Henry Calhoun. He lives in ’Sconset, and he’s introduced me to gardening. I love it, and I’m spending hours restoring the gardens his late wife created.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
Don’t get me started on this one! I put off facing my past for way too long. I also put off reconciling with my brother, Nathan, far too long. Now I try hard not to procrastinate about difficult tasks.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?
Trusting my heart when it comes to romance. I made a huge mistake once, and I’m terrified of doing so again.

5. What do you want out of life?
I wish I could find the kind of deep, abiding love that my brother and his new bride, Heather, have. But I doubt the kind of man I want would want a woman with my history.

6. What is the most important thing to you?
Family and faith. No contest. I lost sight of the importance of both of those for a few years, but I’ve happy to say I once again have my priorities straight.

7. Do you read? If so, what is your favorite type of book to read?
Textbooks for the past few years. But I do sneak in a romance once in a while! Please don’t tell J.C., though. He’ll tease me to death!

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My past. And my feelings of unworthiness.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
No pets. Between going to school full time and working at Ronnie’s Diner, I wouldn’t have had time to give a pet enough attention.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
I’d go back about ten years, right here on Nantucket, so I could meet Henry’s late wife, Marjorie. Their’s was a real-life love story. I’d love to have the opportunity to sit down with her and talk about what it takes to make a marriage work. Maybe then I’d feel more comfortable moving forward Christopher Morgan—the handsome physician who is stealing my heart! The Doctor's Perfect Match (Love Inspired) by Irene Hannon

Isn't it funny how certain professions get us going?

Anyone else have a profession they like? I'm a sucker for guys who work with their hands. :)

Julie | 6 comments I love books about the medical profession!! It's so much nicer to read the story than live it in real life most of the time though! :)

Jenny, I can totally relate to that... I'm not sure I'd like some of the heroes in real life, but boy are they fun to read about. I like taking a peek into the different lives.
