message 1: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet ((eww, are you gunna make me start? *sigh* fine))

Damien was riding his horse through the meadows.

message 2: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet Damien saw a ball role right past him. He looked around, it was getting late and he didn`t see anyone. He got off his horse and walked over, picking up the ball.

message 3: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet Damien looked down when he heard a voice, His eyes widened slightly when he saw a girl around his age, crawling around on the ground. He frowned at the girl, then glared at her aburtness. He bent down and offered his hand. "Girls don't belong rolling in tthe dirt."

message 4: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet "Stealing?" He raised an eyebrow. "It was on my proporty...so technically it's not stealing." He tucked the ball under his arm.

message 5: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet He sighed. "no manners." He muttered under his breath, then looked back up at her. "Okay, he's my offer. I'll give you the ball back...if you let me play with you guys.." He said hesitatly, he'd never played ball before, but he'd seen people play, and it looked like fun.

message 6: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet He smiled slightly, but the smile faded when he saw her climb his gate. "If you would've waited a second, i would've opened that for you." He sighed and got back on his horse, ordering the guards to open the gate, an then going through.

Rose looked out her tall french window, sighing and watching two peolpe whom she didn't know talk. She was bored, and hated her room. Hated being cooped up, and hated her mother for forcing her to marry someone she didn't love. The man was 30 for petes sake! And she was 17. Things weren't fair.

message 8: by Jessi (new)

Jessi ((Just asking, uhm, what does a masqerade got to do with this? Like how will it fit in? And just adding, the er, Great Depression was in the 30's. Just wondering if it was about that one or a different one..:/ please don't think I'm a snob, it's just that it wasn't in the 60's..thought I might..nevermind haha))

Lucinda Banks tucked back a dark strand of hair that fell out of her tight french braid. Crossing her thin pale legs, she waited for her brother in the diner they always met at for saterday morning meetings.
She sighed, taking off her coat and laying it against the seat.
The meetings were supposed to be short, but Alex never was there on time.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Anastasia sighed quietly and looked out at her family's vast estate. The sun was setting, and the view was lovely. A light breeze played with her hair, and she smiled gently. This was when she was the most happy; all alone, appreciating nature.
"Anastasia!" a voice screeched from the house.
"Yes, Mother?"
"Come in at once! We wouldn't want you catching a cold, would we?"
Anastasia sighed. "It's very nice out, Mother."
"Don't you backtalk me, young lady! Come in right now!"
"Yes, Mother. I'll be right in."

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

William knocked on the door of Anastasia's house. It was big. He took a step back to examine it. Much much bigger than the house in which his family owned and rented out to boarders. He stepped back to the door. He had seen the girl who lives here before. She was beauiful. Much much too beautiful for him. He could never get her. Besides, he didnt even know her.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Peering through the peephole, Anastasia was surprised to see a young man standing there. Then she realized that he was the paperboy.
Opening the door, she smiled warmly. "Hello," she said. Now that she was actually seeing him face to face, she almost blushed. He was very handsome, and she was only in her nightgown. Very improper for a young lady.

message 12: by Jessi (new)

Jessi Lucy glanced up when she heard the door opening, the bell ringing.
Her brother flew in, out of breath. Alex gave a weak smile, then bent over, breathing heavily.
Lucy pursed her lips.
"Late again Alexander." She said, standing. "You mustn't make a habit out of this. It's not a good thing, you know."
Tucking her dark hair behind her ears, Lucy waited until her brother was breathing normally again.
"Shall we go now? Marian and Stephan wouldn't like us to be late for their tea with the-what was their name a again?"
"Milce," Alex told her, as they walked out of the diner.
((Could the twins and their aunt and uncle be meeting with Janes parents-they are like friends of the Banks?))

message 13: by Araceli (new)

Araceli The last notes of the sorrowful tune she had been playing melted away as Marcelle lifted her lone pale fingers off of the strings of her violin and lowered her bow. She looked outside of her window, the pale sunlight barely grazing the windowsill. People walked freely in the streets.

message 14: by Jessi (new)

Jessi "There you two are!" The twins aunt, Marian, cried. Lucy and Alex had just rounded the corner on the Milces' street.
"Quickly, come on." She called.
Alex glanced at Lucy, then jogged to meet their aunt and uncle.
Lucy speed walked, but wouldn't run.
Marian was already fretting over Alex when Lucy caught up with them.
"Look at your hair!" Marian scolded as Alex tucked in his white oxford shirt. He quickly pushed his chesnut locks back off his head.
Lucy giggled into her black satin glove.
Stephan laughed openly.
"Come now, Marian." He said, his voice booming. "The Milces will love Alex. If they don't, they will worship Lucinda. Won't they?" He turned to Lucy.
She nodded, giving a polite smile.
"Well, take out your hair, Lucy. It's flying all over the place." Marian said, coming over and untieing the ribbon Lucy had put in it.
Lucy's hair fell out in onyx waves. She quickly ran her fingers through it, then let Marian tie it back in a low, loose ponytail.
"Now we're ready," Marian sniffed.
Stephan nodded, then walked torwards the Milces door, where he knocked on it.
The rest of his family quickly followed.

message 15: by Jessi (new)

Jessi Stephan smiled at his old friend.
"Good to see you man!" He said in a cheerful voice.
"You remember Marian, don't you?" Marian stepped forward, smiling.
"And my neice and nephew." He added, gesturing for the twins to come forward.
Alex and Lucy flahsed brilliant smiles.
"Pleasure to see you," Lucy said, flicking her eyes around the room at the maids and butlers.
Alex nodded in agreement, spotting Mr. Milces daughter, who was behind him.
He grinned charmingly at her.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

William blushed. He looked at the ground. It was hard not to look at her since she was so beautiful, but also, she was in her nightgown. So that would have been improper. So he looked at the ground and only peeked up at her when she wasnt looking at him. "Heres the paper." He said after a long silence. Their eyes met and he couldnt remove his stare. He never had beleived in love at first sight, until right now, of course.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Anastasia's face heated up as their eyes met, and she couldn't help but smile at him like an idiot. Then, realizing how stupid she must look, she tore her gaze away and looked nervously at the ground. "Thank you," she said quietly. Then, "Would you like to come in for tea? I'll need a second to get dressed, but I would enjoy some company," she blurted out, blushing again.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

"Umm, well. You are the last one on my route. I guess that would be nice." William said smiling inside. He waited outside. He couldnt help but think of how they would look if they were a couple. But than he realized their class difference. He was a poor boy, hit hard by the depression. She was a beautiful, rich girl, unphased by it. They could never be. No one would aproove. But he decided that he didnt care what the rest of the town thought. Than he realized, she had only just invited him in for tea.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

There was an awkward moment of silence, and then Anastasia cleared her throat. "A-alright," she said, holding the door open for him to step inside. She pointed to a sitting area with a few chairs and tables. "Wait here, please," she said, and disappeared upstairs.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

He walked inside and his mouth dropped. The place was gourgus! He walked to the sitting room and sat in one of the chairs looking at one of the pictures of Anistasia. He smiled at how beautiful she was.

message 21: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 30, 2010 05:35PM) (new)

Standing in front of her full length mirror, Anastasia contemplated what to wear. After all, it wasn't every day that a handsome young man showed up at her house.
She debated for a while, eventually choosing a simple yet elegant red gown. It had a modest lace corset, which led down to a flowing skirt.
Twirling around, Anastasia looked herself up and down. Not bad, she thought to herself. Not bad at all. Then she started walking slowly down the stairs, being very careful not to trip over her gown.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

William looked at Anastasia and almost fainted. She looked beautiful in a long red dress. Walking sown the stars, it was alsomst as if some one had modeled her for a painting. William stood up and smiled while she was walking down the stairs.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Anastasia blushed at the intensity his gaze. Walking slowly down the stairs, she attempted to look graceful. The effect was ruined, however, when she stumbled on the last step.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

William ran over to Anastasia. He helped her up, but midway, he felt as if he was frozen, he looked into her eyes. He snapped out of it when he heard an old car drive by clunkily. He continued helping her up. "You ok?" He asked

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Anastasia's face heated up yet again, and she avoided his gaze. "I'm...I'm alright."

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

"I, umm, You, umm... Your house is... nice." William said. He sat down again in one of the chairs

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Anastasia sat down across from him. "Thank you," she said quietly. She opened her mouth to say more, but instead found herself gaping at him. He really was handsome. There was an awkward moment of silence.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

William furrowed his eyebrows. "I should, umm, be going. I just remembered that I uh have to go sell apples. But um, here is my address. You can, umm write me. I will see you tomorrow with the p[aper." William said embarrased. He wanted to stay- he really did, but he did have to sell apples. He stood up and gave her the peice of paper with his address.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Anastasia sighed. She had screwed this up for sure. "Alright," she said, "It was nice meeting you."

message 30: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 31, 2010 12:38PM) (new)

"Yes you too." William said. He headed toward the richer side of town. He sold apples there because no body else did. People usually scowled at him or said rude comments, but he didn't mind. People were richer on this side of town so usually they also bought more apples. Today he was selling them for 2 cents each. He had 28 apples.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

((He can earn $0.56! Woohoo!))

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

(lol, idk, i think that was alot back then though...)

message 33: by Jessi (new)

Jessi Brittney wrote: "( Jessi want to rp on your's? )"

((Which one?))

"Ah yes," Stephan said, grinning. He shook Leonards' wifes' hand and then his daughters.
Lucy stepped forward after her aunt was done hugging.
She offered a slight smile at Patricia, shaking her hand lightly.
She wasn't big on hugs.
Lucy turned to shake Janes hand, but her brother had beaten her.
Being as dramatic as he was, Alex made a sweeping bow at Jane, then took her hand, bringing to his lips, barely brushing it. He looked up at the girl through his long lashes
((Haha stole that from twilight(;))

message 34: by Jessi (new)

Jessi ((Sure))

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Sara was in the back room of her parents deli with her mother needle pointing. They were hoping that they could sell them for extra money.

Zach was at the counter in the deli while his father was arranging the meats

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

"Apple? only 2 cents!" William said to all of the passer byers

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Sara's mother gave her some money to get some food. It wasn't much so Sara had to be extra careful with it

message 38: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 02, 2010 06:42PM) (new)

"Apples! Only 2 cents a peice!" William said to a girl walking by.

message 39: by Jessi (new)

Jessi Lucy watched darkly as the girl, Jane, quickly fell under Alex's charming spell.
She blew out a small sigh, but quickly put back on her normal, expressionless face.
Shedding off her coat, Lucy glanced around, before pasting a sweet innocent smile on her face.
"Excuse me," She said politely to Patricia. "Who should we give our coats too?"
"Oh yes," Marian said, quickly taking off hers. Stephan and Alex were doing the same thing.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Chloe wrote: ""Apples! Only 2 cents a peice!" William said to a girl walking by."

Sara walked up to him, "4 please." she said quietly taking out 8 cents

message 41: by Jessi (new)

Jessi Lucy watched the butler, Tom, smiling slighty when their eyes met for a brief second. She grimaced when she heard that she and Alex were stuck with Jane.
"Lovely," She said in a frosty voice. Alex shot her a look, and Lucy shrugged.
"Well, come on." She sniffed.

message 42: by Jessi (new)

Jessi ((Uhm, sure?))

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

William 's jaw dropped. The beautiful girl was buying apples. 4 of them! Will grabbed the four best apples he could find and handed te=hem to her smiling. His dad would be proud.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Chloe wrote: "William 's jaw dropped. The beautiful girl was buying apples. 4 of them! Will grabbed the four best apples he could find and handed te=hem to her smiling. His dad would be proud."

"Thank you." Sara said quietly. She had to find bread for her family and they'd be set.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

"No, Thank you." William said as he watched the girl walk off. He had to peel his eyes away, it is impolite to stare his mother always had told him.

message 46: by Jessi (new)

Jessi Lucy grimaced at Patricias suggestion.
Going up to the girls room? How dull. Of course, Lucy would never say such a thing, seeing how rude that would be.
Instead, Lucy stayed down at the bottom of the stairs.
"Excuse me," Lucy said in a loud, but polite voice. Four pairs of eyes turned to look at her.
"What is is Lucy?" Her aunt asked.
"Where is the, uh, powder room?" Lucy said, glancing around.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Chloe wrote: ""No, Thank you." William said as he watched the girl walk off. He had to peel his eyes away, it is impolite to stare his mother always had told him."

Sara walked to get bread and then went back to the family deli

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

William went back to his house and gave his father the money who gave him 2 cents of the 8. Will was very excited. His family didn't make much and for them to give him 2 cents was a tremendous deal. He fished through his pocket for the 6 cent pay for the paper

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

Sara went to the front counter to help her brother. He went to mark down prices, again

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

William decided to get spmething to eat woith the one dollar and four coins he had in his pocket. He always made a dollar a month and he always spent it at the deli where the had the best food. He walked in the deli and saw the girl who had bought apples from him earlier.
