Ohh! I'm soo looking forwards to reading the southern vampires series! are you a bill-fan or an eric-fan?
so far this year i'v read:
1. Dream Heart - Cecilia Samartin
- a beautiful story about two girls who grow up in Cuba during the Castro-times
2. The Host - Stephenie Meyer
- it's the third time i've read this book, and i still love it ^^
3. several Agatha Christie books about Poirot
- you gotta love a good crime
4. Grims fairytales - some of them
- you never grow too old for fairytales ;)
5. Æsops fables
and i'm currently reading Around the world in 80 days by Jules Verne
I love the sookie books and I want to read the Host.. but I'm currently reading two different series of books and The Once and Future King.. I can never seem to read one book truly at a time.. ^_^
I've startet the first Sookie book now :D it is good ;) I live Bill ^^
you should really read the host! it's such a great story, and so much better than twilight if you've ever read those ;P
i can't either, but i have to in the end anyway 'cause else i just mix all the storylines together and that never really works well.. :P
Haha.. Eric is my favorite ^_^ The books get better as the series goes! Book 10 Dead in the Family is out in May!

i ca..."
Sigrid, I'm a Bill fan, too! Enjoy the books! :)
yay! :D i kind of like Eric too because he's swedish, and it's so very seldom that nordic people are in english novels ^^
and he's a viking! YAY :D
but Bill is still my favorite ;)
btw. have any of you read any Philip Pullman books?
if not i highly recommend it ;)
No, I haven't read Philip Pullman yet, Sigrid. I have been meaning to read His Dark Materials for awhile now. I really have to get to it! Thanks!
he's an incredible storyteller! you should really look forwards to reading HDM ;) and if you think you'll like victorian crime story (kind of..) you should try the sally lockhart series too ;)
but what kind of stuff do you read?
Yay for Vikings indeed! Haha my family is part swedish.. ^_^ so I get excited when I see Nordic characters as well!I haven't read anything by Philip Pullman.. I'll have to check him out!
that's cool ;) i'm norwegian by the way ;)
PP's books are good reads but don't watch the golden compass movie if you haven't already, because it's BAD!
haha I've heard that about the movie.. which is why I haven't watched it..but I do want to read the book.. ^_^and thats cool that you are Norwegian.. ^_^ .. I sadly have no nordic blood.. I was adopted .. but my mom is half swedish(as I mentioned)
ok :) where are you from then? can you speak swedish? have you ever been to sweden?
sorry.. that's a lot of questions :P
Haha I live in the US ..in Colorado.. I do not speak swedish and sadly have never been though I want to go some day. My great aunt Ronnie was the last one in my family that spoke Swedish, great grandparents moved to America in the early 1900s so we've been here awhile and last I heard I don't think I even have any relatives left in Sweden or they are very old at the least..
ok :) but it's fun tracking down family and stuff!
i think i have some relatives in the US
and my mum's folks originally came from the Netherlands :)
Oh I agree, I've been working on my family tree but its really hard if you don't have a lot of information. One of my great great aunts made a list once but the dates are not 100% accurate so it has been slow going .. and that was for a different branch of my tree, I'd love to research the Swedish side..
well good luck with it ;) i already have a pretty big tree framed somewhere in my house ^^
btw. i think it can be really interesting to read about people finding family as well :P
i don't have any good examples right now though..
Oh I agree haha.. I love it when the story incorporated learning about the characters family.. it helps you grow with the the character as the story progresses..^_^
i totally agree! ^^ if it's a good story i sometimes find it easier to like the character when i know more about them, so a little bit of family and growing-up-stuff is great i think ;)
i think we have very similar tastes in books ;P
and i noticed you've read a lot of king arthur stories?
My favorite series is a quartet by A.A. Attanasio.. he takes the legends starting from before Arthur and goes on through the end of Arthur.. but he incorporates some of the modern understanding of science and finds a way to mold it in with the lore and myth, and not just Arthurian legend these book have the Saxon gods and demons, and the Fae.. which is part of what I really enjoyed ..that its not just about Arthur. The first novel in the set is The Dragon and the Unicorn
no problem!and on another note an update to my list..

Yay! I couldn't stop reading them.. I read them back to back as best I could because I got sucked in.. (haha vampires.. sucked in.. yeah thats cheesey)
haha :P good one! I really like the book, but i didn't think it was really well written and that kind of annoyed me.. -.- but i've just started the second book, and i can't wait to read on.
there's a lot of differences from the TV-series though, and i kind of miss Tara.. and she KILLED LAFAYETTE!!! :'(
i just hate her for that... i really love Lafayette in the tv-series..
:)
ohh.. and i have this hope: since the TV-series is so different, then maybe Sookie will stay with Bill! :D
the TV show is waaaaaaaaay different then the books.. which I don't mind because it lets you enjoy both separately but I just hope the keep the main storyline the same.. haha..and I'm still cheering on Eric in the show and the books.. ^_^
Haha We shall just have to wait and see what happens.. the books are definitely fluff but I got sucked in anyway and soooo much happens. I can't wait to see the new season and read the next book that comes out in May.. let me know what you think after you've read more of the books!
mm ^^ I can't wait to read the rest of the books! yes, they're very fluff :P
oh my god! I just hate waiting for season 3 to come out!! I want it NOW! :P
I will ;)
but it might take some time 'cause I have soooo much to do at the moment so I have no time for reading.. :'(
Oh I know what you mean.. as the year goes on I think I'm going to have less and less time to read until sometime after October..
I hate that.. I would love to always read if that was possible! .. or maybe not always... but I'm sure you get my point ;P
