Adri's 50 for 2010
14. Diary of a Bad Year by J. M. Coetzee15. The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
16. Tu Rostro Mannana: Fiebre y Lanza by Javier Marias
I loved it. It's hilarious... until you realize what it stands for. Very well written, and there's a lot to learn from it.
37. Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert
44. Emma by Jane Austen45. Little Bee by Chris Cleave
46. When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris
Adri wrote: "57. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson"I wholeheartedly recommend "The Haunting" the 1963 film version of this. No special effects, just lighting, camera angles & mood.
I say skip the remake. Aside from the always watchable Liam Neeson, there was nothing to recommend it. I watched the original for the first time while babysitting when I was 13 - after being told by someone NOT to do that. It was slightly less unnerving in the daylight with my brothers in the room, but then they started banging on the wall of the hallway to the bedrooms which was ran along my bedroom. And you'll have to watch the movie to understand why that would freak a girl out.
