Sometimes it's the cover that draws me to the book and then when I read the summary if it seems like there will be surprises in it or maybe I can relate to the topic then I read it.

That's exactly how I am. I have discovered some great books and probably overlooked a few too. Thanks for commenting.

I know the topics I like to read about & I know the authors I prefer, so that's what usually draws me to a book...but like Janell said, the cover & summary are important, too, but because those can be misleading I try to rely on the author and his/her previous works.

I would say the cover then the synopsis...I want something thought-provoking and definitely nothing boring!

Their style of writing, if it keeps me interested. Also If I like a particular character and they write sequels.

I like a lot of drama in a book. A book that I just can't put down. The ones you have an all-nighter with. lol
