Okay, so has anyone read/seen Angels & Demons? Or The Da Vinci Code? Dan Brown has also put out other books, those being Deception Point, Digital Fortress, and The Lost Symbol. I haven't read The Lost Symbol yet, and when I started reading Deception Point last year, I never finished. Anyone have a favorite out the five?

Oh cool! My mom has The Lost Symbol on her Kindle. She won't let me read because it has "stuff that isn't appropriate for my age." All the others we have in paperbacks on our real bookshelf.
I haven't read Lost Symbol yet either so we can both be missing out. I think I like Angels and Demons best.
Still haven't seen the movie but I think I'm going to break down and buy it. I hear is is good.

Which book(s) don't you like? I like the historical aspect of it. Not so much the mystery part because his mystery part tends to lead in the direction that you can guess what will happen. However, I'm not a mystery reader buff so that doesn't bother me all that much.
Leonor: Why don't you like his work?Elyssa: I also think Angels and Demons was the best. My second favorite is The Da Vinci Code.
idk, I just dont like the way he writes.his way and jose rodrigues dos santos, he wrote Codex 632: A Novel About the Secret Identity of Christopher Columbus
His writing style wasn't amazing.
I like Dan Brown's novels. I've read Angels & Demons, The DaVinci Code, Deception Point and The Lost Symbol. Zakiya - I don't know how old you are but I wouldn't let my daughter read The DaVinci Code for a long time either because I didn't feel it was age appropriate either even though she was fully capable of reading them and following it. She finally read it anyway even though I wasn't fully comfortable with it.
I like Dan Brown, though I don't really like The Lost Symbol. The Da Vinci Code is my favorite. I like Angels and Demons - I think it's more fast-paced - but the ending relies too heavily on the suspension of disbelif in my opinion. I agree Dan Brown's writing isn't amazing, but I just enjoy reading thrillers sometimes and the history (accurate or not, I wouldn't know) mixed into the books makes it more interesting, as Elyssa says.
Mary, you should stop by our topic Censorship at home. We could use some more parents thoughts.
Right Pandy, for me Dan Brown books are more about the history that he talks about. I love that part of his stories more then anything. How cool is it to be dragged to some of those places? Loved it.
So far my Favorite Dan Brown would be Digital Fortress, but I enjoy a more Tech based fiction too. I've been meaning to pick up a Hardcover copy of it to keep for myself. I've also read Angel & Demons as well as The Da Vinci Code both were good in there own way.
I liked Dan Browns writing with the DiVinci Code and Angels & Demons, of course the movies didn't do the books any justice. The Lost Symbol was a little different and I only gave it 3 stars because it took to long to get to the main point in the book but the ending was mind boggleing. Brown twisted the christian religion with Scienology and I thought it was interesting how Science tries to explain the unexplainable mysterys of the bible. When you read these books you have to have an open mind and I believe a person should explore more than one source and then make up their mind in what they believe. I was raised with Christian beliefs but I am not so closed minded and brain washed to believe everything is evil. I have to agree after reading Dan Browns books, it leaves the mind wondering what the truth really is.

I've only read the Da Vinci Code and Angles and Demons.I must say I liked the latter much better.
Oh, and I fell asleep during the Da Vinci Code movie. And I really enjoy movies, so that says a lot.
You feel asleep but you enjoyed it?
