Lisbeth, I'm taking a road trip next month and I think I will be bringing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I'm really looking forward to this one and so glad that you not only liked it but discovered a new genre of books. It is sad that the author died before he was able to see the fuits of his labor come to life, very sad!
I'm not leaving until next week and I can't wait to read my way through New England and the South...lol
Lisbeth, I finished the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I was not disappointed in the least! It was one of the best books I have read in a while. I can't wait to read the other 2 in the series. I keep thinking how tragic that Steig dies before he got to see his work complete. He is someone that I would have always followed as an author.
Lisbeth wrote: "#7: Cormac McCarthy - "The Road""I want to get to this one sometime, how did you like it? I think I am gonna have to put it on my library list to check out!
Lisbeth, is that the Henry Rollins? I remember thinking he was very cool when I was in high school. I think he wrote a book that I carried in my bag until it feel apart. I want to say it was poetry and short stories and a lot of it was very dark. Am I thinking of someone else maybe?...lol
I will have to check that out. one story I remember in vivid detail is about a women who killed herself in a Walmart parking lot. I can never get it out of my head....
Lisbeth, did you like the Bree Tanner book? I thought it was pretty good and not at all what I was expecting!
I honestly thought it was going to be stupid and was surprised to like it so much!...lol Have you seen the movie yet? I went this weekend and it was good. Each one gets a little better. If they could only fix the make-up to not look like make-up...hahah
