Figure we'd start a thread to talk about the out of character stuff like when this takes place, who are the characters, what's the plot, and so on. I can always bring Daniel with your team, if there's some fun stuff to decipher on 666. (have you got a background on the planet?)

Can always start 'fresh' with regards to plot, characters and so on if people aren't here. Once we decide on the background, the mission/storyline will flow a lot better.

You remember the period where SG1 was broken up? Teal'c went to Chu'lak, Sam was in Area51.... I can't quite remember when this happened of the top of my head. but sounds like a good period. but i don't think Vala was there.

Fun fun. Yeah, I remember that. Did they replace them with other people or what?

I think SG1 was on stand-by/broken up...as a status, i need to look it up. this was before Mitchell was brought in I think, if I remember correctly it was after Season 8 and before season 9.

I'm thinking we can always have this take place between the time Mitchell is brought in, and whilst Sam's at Area51, it's a fair assumption that not everything that happened at SGC got portrayed onscreen.

That sounds good to me! As I said, I haven't watched it in quite some time. Was Jack still there?

He was, but he's in charge of SGC at that point, Hence why SG1 was broken up. if i remember right.

That's what I thought, I just couldn't remember if it was him at that point. Cool. Well, I guess let's have it be then, and I will play... ... Hang on. I'll decide.

With Sam at Area 51, Teal'c on Chu'lak , Jack running SGC , Daniel is probably hanging around translating stuff at base and sometimes joining SG missions as an archaeologist and whatnot. (the stuff that he doesntget the chance to do much on SG1)

What's on that planet you were thinking of going to? Primary intel at least shouldve already been gathered by the MALP and all. (before a misssion is authorized) MALP could always pick up some writing on the walls that your team may need Jackson to help with. He doesn't have to go with your team right now, but maybe they'll request for him later. Also an option

Truly, it was Dandytiger's idea about the planet... I don't know what she was planning. I suppose we could just decide on something, since as you said they would already know some stuff about it from the MALP.

Perhaps we should say that the Stargate on the planet is in a structure of some sorts, and the MALP picked up writing on the wall, so Daniel is going right off the bat? The structure could be considered some sort of sacred place, and the SG team could either be hailed as gods for having come through the Stargate, or attacked for violating it. I don't know...

I honestly can't think of any other good canon characters to play.

Have you pinged Dandytiger to see if she's still around? If not, we may as well move ahead and spin it our own way.

That sounds good! You'd have to ask Daniel to come with you guys though. I suppose some of the photos from the planet can be in one of those files he's carrying (I think that'd work best), can talk about it right there and then.

I don't mind playing the canon characters. Could use the 'workout' since I used to playing them anyway.

What about the 'aliens'; any ideas how you want them played? if you got a quick profile of them, basic attitude, names maybe, etc, it'd be easier for both of us to play them.

Okay, are we still at the base or on the planet now? (as there are two threads now. I was asking for an OOC description of the planet, so I know what Daniel's looking at in those files)

The planet has a strange climate, with unpredictable weather and many different types of land. It has one sun and two moons. The majority of the planet is covered with water, with one known mainland, and a smaller island (where the Stargate is). There is a large temple on the island full of markings and shrines, and it holds the Stargate.

planet name.... hmmmm *throws brain around* Hmmm....should be something that's relevant to the people on the planet. How about "Ka'Mak'? (a play on the leader's name maybe the leaders change their names to resemble the planet's name once they become leaders?)

Well, I love Jack, so I wouldn't mind playing him. Who is the doctor at this point? Sorry for all the questions about that stuff. I haven't watched much Stargate lately.

Ok, if I remember right, our previous plan was that this takes place after the team is broken up. Just Daniel is at SGC, Jack's gone to the Pentagon or something. Dr Lam is the doctor on base.

previous plan can work, definitely. :) and no worries for the questions. :) it's all good. I have plenty myself. the more we clear up the easier it'll be to role play!

Do we still want the Tok'ra there though? could be just an unscheduled return trip. one of the teams coming back earlier. I can write that up, then Ginny can catch him on the way out or something.

Ok.. um.. OOC chatter... which season are we in, here? (who's in charge of SGC, etc) sorry if i sound like a broken record. but it helps to know, can hardly take a sight seeing trip to Chulak if there's still un rest there.. ;-)

but if this is pre-Vala or post-Vala, there's some potential for post-Vala stuff for plenty of trouble on base. (she constantly annoys Daniel and I can easily play her too)

Who else is around, seems like only Ginny and Daniel right now. LOL did everyone else get beamed off or something... Oooh there's an idea!
