Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14544 comments Popeye and Olive Oyl

Hands down, Buffy and Angel for me.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 146 comments Laura Holt and the man known as Remington Steele
Lord John Roxton and Marguerite Kreux on The Lost World (okay, I know they're not famous, but they are one of my fave tv show couples)
Nick and Claudia off of Primeval (BBC show)
The Doctor and Martha off Doctor Who (they were supposed to be together, darn it!)

Sadly I'm only familiar with Remington Steele and Laura Holt. That was a good show :)
I've heard of Dr Who but never saw it. Never heard of the others.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 146 comments I'm a big sci-fi/fantasy nerd when it comes to tv/movies. My tastes reflect that.

message 14: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments OK, since we're not sticking strictly to HEAs, I'll list a few more favs.

Firefly had some of my all-time favorite couples:
Mal & Inara (best unrequited love ever)
Zoe & Wash (fabulous couple while it lasted - I was shocked/cried the first time I saw Serenity)
Kaylee & Simon (at least one couple got their HEA)

Chuck:
Ellie & "Awesome" - They are such a cute couple
Chuck & Sarah - They have great chemistry and they belong together, dang-it, but they're probably going to tease us right up to the end.

I'll have to see if I can come up with some more.

I liked Firefly too. Would have like more HEA though.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 146 comments Oh, yes. I love Firefly. May and Inara are a great couple.

message 17: by Miss Kim (last edited Mar 26, 2010 01:09PM) (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) Going back to my childhood, I liked:

Sam & Diane - Cheers
Maddie and David - Moonlighting - used to love that show.
But now I relize neither of the above ended up together did they? :(

Aside from some mentined above:
Pam and Jim - The Office
Ross & Nurse Hathaway - ER (in the 90's)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 146 comments I can't remember if David and Maddie ended up together or not.

message 19: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn I'm a "Firefly" fan, too! Agree Mal and Inara were great. Too bad the series got canceled without a proper ending.

Enjoying "Castle" with Rick Castle and Kate Becket. He's Nathan Filman from "Firefly." He's a mystery writer that has teamed up with a detective to write a series loosely based on Kate Becket's detective life. Cute show. His mind helps solve cases and he often catches details the detectives overlook or didn't consider. He has contacts in high places and a neat sense of humor.

I also think Booth and Bones from the show "Bones" are a great "couple."

message 20: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 111 comments @Kathrynn:

Absolutely agree with both of yours.

I love Castle! Nathan Fillion is hilarious! He plays his part so well. I always chuckle at the starting when he's looking into a window and says: "I really am ruggedly handsome, aren't I?" LOL

Some people don't want Booth and Bones together but oh, I do! I think he makes her a better person. From Season 1 to now I can see the growth in her and well, after last weeks epi (how frustrating was that!) I think we may see some more changes.

message 21: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14544 comments I haven't watched Castle but maybe I ought to :)

message 22: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 111 comments Pamela wrote: "I haven't watched Castle but maybe I ought to :)"

You should, Pamela. There are tons of cop dramas on tv. Castle is more of a dramedy. It's not as serious as the Law & Orders and the CSI's. It's sheer entertainment!

message 23: by Kathrynn (last edited Apr 12, 2010 09:58AM) (new)

Kathrynn Lynsey, I love how "Castle" starts out with "there are two kinds of murders in the world. I'm the one that pays better...."

I was so frustrated after the last episode of Bones! Did you see Booth's face when they were talking to Sweets and she said they weren't in love? Then, her rationale for not getting involved with him didn't jive. She was involved with that other guy that asked her to go sailing around the world with him....

I was bummed by the last episode.

Pamela, I think you'd enjoy it. "Castle" airs Monday's at 9 Central Time. ;-)

I saw "the book" (Castle) in the bookstore the other day, too. Been thinking about reading it when it comes out in paperback.

Has anyone here read it?

I think that's it, tho. She wasn't in love with Sully and is in love with Booth but doesn't recognize it. She only sees that she will hurt Booth because she doesn't think she has the capacity to love him like he does her, which in turn proves she loves him, at least IMHO. "I don't have your heart." She says. But, yes, totally frustrating regardless.

My sister has read Castle's book. She liked it.

Kathrynn, have you seen Serenity? I wish Firefly could have continued, but I thought that Serenity was a great wrap-up for the show.

A friend of hubby's recommended Castle. We both love Nathan Fillion, so I think we'll probably check it out soon.

message 26: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn I read something strange about Serenity and if my memory serves me correctly, it was supposed to be BEFORE the series, but the producers or powers that be opted to air out of order.

Yes, we enjoyed "Serenity." Then went out and bought the "Firefly" series on DVD. Interesting because the price of the complete series fluctuates greatly at Target. Sometimes, it's $19.99, sometimes it's $29.99, sometimes it's $39.99. Go figure.

message 27: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments Hmmmm....I'm a little confused, because Serenity definitely comes after the Firefly series and never aired on television. It wasn't even produced until after Firefly was canceled, and then only because of major fan backlash. As far as I know, it was always intended to be a wrap-up for the show. What made it so unusual was it being a TV show that concluded on the big screen.

message 28: by Julianna (last edited Apr 12, 2010 08:16PM) (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments I was really baffled by your comment, Kathrynn, but with some help from my hubby (a hardcore Firefly fan), I finally figured it out. I think you might be confusing the Serenity feature film that wrapped up the show, with the first episode of Firefly on the DVD which is also titled "Serenity." And, yes it did air out of order. In fact, it was the very last of the episodes that aired on TV before it was canceled. I'm thinking that was probably the network's decision (lame, IMHO), and definitely think it works much better in the DVD order.

message 33: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (last edited Feb 06, 2011 01:07AM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Lady Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "I can't remember if David and Maddie ended up together or not."

Lady D, Nope. I did a little research on the Internet and discovered several things that went 'wrong' leading to no HEA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonligh...
Maddie & David consumated their love at the end of Season 3. Sheppard was off having twins in real life during Season 4 so there weren't many together shots of Maddie & David; Willis was doing 'Die Hard' and wanted to pursue moive career, major writer/producer Caron left show due to creative differences (felt he wouldn't win against Sheppard).

The synopsis of the last show, entitle 'Lunar Eclipse' is a follows: Annie's husband Mark arrives in town and she wants to tell him about her and David, but David is unsure. Mark comes to believe that she is having an affair with Herbert. David engineers a scenario in which Annie catches him with another woman, prompting her to leave town with her husband. Herbert and Agnes get married, but the wedding ends in a brawl and everyone spends the night in jail. Maddie and David learn that Moonlighting has been cancelled when they return to the office and it is in the process of being dismantled by studio staff. They confront a producer, who tells them that "romance is a fragile thing" and that theirs is over. They rush to a church in an attempt to get married, but the priest refuses to marry them and they are left alone to reminisce. The series ends with a montage of flashbacks.

Such a shame because the first few seasons were great.

kilty (kiltypleasure) | 2 comments My favorite tv couple has always been Jim & Pam (The Office)

Also recently I started watching Brothers & Sisters and I really like Kevin & Scotty...seriously they are the cutest...esply. enjoy Kevin's (Welsh actor Matthew Rhys) sarcastic quips!

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi ..... shallow here.... thats me...
I have to say my favorite couple is.....
Ross and Rachel from Friends..... one of the very few Beta men I love.
He was my TV Beta heroes.....

message 36: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14544 comments Kilty, I haven't watched those shows...
Faithmarie, I did like Ross and Rachel.

I watch a lot of NCIS and love DeNozzo and Zeva, although they are technically NOT a couple, they do sizzle.

message 37: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (last edited Mar 15, 2011 05:34PM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Kitty, I have only seen bits and pieces of The Office. I do remember laughing. Maybe one day I'll watch it in full when it goes to syndication and I can watch it from the beginning.

Faithmarie, I have all 10 seasons of Friends on DVD! I love sitcoms, though they are a dying breed. I watch them and see so many rip-offs from Friends.
The One the Morning After (1997)
Ross: [Rachel is on the phone ordering a pizza] No anchovies.
Rachel: Extra anchovies.
Ross: That's okay; I'll just pick them off.
Rachel: And can you chop some up and like, mix them into the sauce?

Pamela, NCIS has been my favorite show for years. My sister-in-law didn’t like Tony at first, but he has slowly won her over. LOL.
The Meat Puzzle (2005)
Kate: Gibbs, what did Ducky looked like when he was younger?
Gibbs: A young Illya Kuryakin.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

I LOVE The Office! I Love Psych.
What is NCIS?
Hey that guy looks familiar ..... from A LONG TIME AGO....

message 39: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments OMG! Faithmarie, You've never seen NCIS? How exciting! Okay, okay. We will have to get you started. It is a show that has only grown each year in popularity since it started in 2003 (unlike others that peak and then fall).

Pamela, Should she start at the beginning on USA, or jump right in on CBS?

FM, I think you may even be able to watch some on-line.

message 40: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14544 comments I'd rent the first season to get familiar but USA's older eps would be better. There is so much going on now that one might get lost.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

What is NCIS?

message 42: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments From Wikipedia...
NCIS, formerly known as NIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service, is an American police procedural drama television series revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which conducts criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh soooo its not a comedy huh... any comic relief ... I always have to have comic relief. LOL

message 44: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Trivia note: The change from NIS to NCIS is why you occassional see Gibbs wearing an old tee-shirt or sweatshirts with these initials.

message 45: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Faithmarie, There is plenty of humor! Hense, the 'Illya Kuryakin' comment.
