listening to Secret Love by Freddy Fender. An oldie but I still love it :)

It totally outs me as a Twifan, but I loved the Iron & Wine track from Twilight. Sadly every other song written by him (them?) sounds exactly the same, but Flightless Bird, American Mouth is truly gorgeous and makes me go all gooey and dreamy every time I hear it.

I love that one too, Moss. It's a really beautiful song.

I listen to a lot of alternative music, so my kind of romantic probably isn't everyone else's. I like the moody, depressing stuff, like Depeche Mode, etc.

There's so many but top of my head "When you love someone" by Brian Adams (it was my wedding's song) and "Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd, "Falling In" by Life House, "Good witch of the North" by Everclear...

I tend to like sad love songs, lol (maybe a have a country gene on me)

I could go on forever, even not including the Brazilian love songs that were part of my teenage years—when people believe they won't be able to love anyone else the way they loved their high school crush. It was intense!

lol. Those teenage crushes are rough. Back then when you know it all and no one can convince you otherwise. I have a 12 yr old and I am NOT looking forward to those teen years. She already imagines herself in love with this boy or that.

Teenagers don't seem to have changed in attitude for decades!

Yep, that's the word. Of course my rebeling consisted of reading continuously. I didn't even want to go out with friends (I didn't have many - I was shy) because I wanted to stay home and finish a book

There's a song called "Hallelujah" done by many artists, but I'm thinking of the one by Jeff Buckley. It's got strange lyrics, but the swell of his voice and the music is very passionate.

That's a Leonard Cohen song, written and originally released by him. Great song. I have a CD with a version done by Bono, but other cover artists include K.D. Lang, Bob Dylan, Brandi Carlile, Espen Lind and Willie Nelson. I don't watch the show myself, but heard that coaches on "The Voice" sang it in tribute to Sandy Hook Elementary this past winter. LYRICS

I love songs from lots of eras, but one of my favorite older ones is "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face." I first heard it in the movie My Fair Lady, but my favorite version so far is one by Nat King Cole. Love those oldies but goodies!

Even though I'm not a Rihanna fan (at all), her new song Stay is so haunting and evocative. I hear it and it strikes me as the soundtrack for a very steamy romance!

LOL Abigail, I can't watch tv or listen to music when I read. I get too distracted. I'll sing along too with music. As regards to the TV I find my book characters will look like whoever is on. Not good if my daughter is watching Spongebob or something.

I had to look it up on YouTube, but yes... I like it!

Hubby (then boyfriend) used to go dancing at Old Wave night every Tuesday and they'd play this song. AG, the memories. ;)

I must say, for romance, I adore Canadian band Blue Rodeo. They play rockabilly/rock/country type music (hard to pigeonhole them) and have some really angsty ballads that make me swoon.

In case you want to hear one, I recommend one called "After the Rain."

Fave line: "And tonight when I'm losing control, I will drink to the queen of my soul."
