Perspective Plus discussion

Welcome to my new group. This is a place for all large sized people to vent, share and try to make sense of a world not geared to handle us. This is NOT a weight loss group, but you will find support here if you are trying to healthier. This is for all of us who would like to see more plus sized people in books, on T.V. and movies. People who are the love interest and not the best friend.

This is for all of us who have been asked when our baby is due and we were not pregnant when asked.

This is for any of us who have been discriminated against by snobby store clerks, who have been ignored by clerks while standing at the counter with purchases in hand, who have had clerks carry on conversations with others while ignoring us the entire time. For those of us who have been accosted upon entering with "we don't carry your size" when we have been shopping for someone else.

This is for all of us who have been told that we're o.k. to have sex with, but not be seen in public with.

This is for all us who have only known love from Sara Lee, Ben and Jerry, Aunt Jemima, Betty Crocker, Uncle Ben, Marie Callender, and others.

This is for all of us who have put up with ignorant, vile, and terrible treatment because we are different.

This is for those of us who want to see the world change and accept us for who we are.

This is to help us accept who we are, and love ourselves.

I hope to be able to eventually create a web site for this group and take it to the world at large someday soon.
