The Big Sleep a novel by Raymond Chandler

Raymond Chandler’s language is lively and bright. Every week, I'm going to ask you to pick out a sentence or paragraph that you especially like. When you come to something you really like, come back to this page and write down the page number and where it is on the page.
Page# where on the page?

Who is the narrator of this story? What line of work is he in?

p. 5 – 7 He is going to call on General Sternwood, whom he describes as “four million dollars”. Who is the first person he meets?

What are some of his descriptions of her?
