I wonder if it is possible that the island was 'moved' once already, by Richard or Ben to hide it from Widmore??!! If he 'owned'it once before, why wasnt he able to find it all that time in between then and now? He needed the hatch to explode to be able to get the bearings....
Hmmm... I think Abbadon is not with Widmore. But I also think he is not with Richard... He formed his own team of 'freighter'people to infiltrate Widmores boat. Those people he hired knew nothing of the evil plans Keamy recvd....
I think there are many many groups of people trying to get thier hands on this island. Widmore, Abbadon, and Ben/Richard are trying like hell to preserve and protect it, i think....

That must be it, must've already been "moved." Witmore and Ben have some sory of big relationship, I can't think of anything. I want to know more about this asswhole! All we know is that he hates Desmond and he's trying to hide the island.
Lori, what an interesting theory! It would certainly account for why Whidmore couldn't find it.It's got me wondering if Ben's group knew about Desmond pushing that button for all that time.Did that ever get addressed in any episode?I can't recall. It seems to me that if they were unaware then the original button pusher was from widmore. But that doesn't make sense either.Hmmm...scratching my head in confusion and wondering what it meeans if anything or is it just another dropped thread of storyline.
Yes! That's another question that has never been answered, who was the original button pusher? Or if it has been answered, I can't remember who he was.
Before Dessy, there was Kelvin, the guy that tricked Dessy to stay in the hatch pushing the buttons all day while he went out in the clean suit and repaired Dessys boat in the hopes of leaving the island (who dessy ended up following, and killing, and missed pushing the button and caused the plane to crash). He had a partner who had died, but other than that, I dont know who came before them.
(note of trivia)*** Kelvin was seen in Sayids flashback when he was in the Guard.. Kelvin had a different name and was the one who got Sayid to work for him torturing spies...hmmmm..... another recruit, or preperation for recruit???? Was Kelvin Dharma or Widmore????

That caused the plane to crash? Omg! Kelvin.... I got a gut feeling he's from Ben's neck of the woods, but my gut could be wrong.
See here's what bothers me about this particular thread. The original button pushers were from Dharma.Ben got rid of the dharma people.
Were they aware that pushing the button was necessary?
Did they have the guy before dessy pushing the button?
And then the guy just decided that he had enough and wanted out so he set Dessy up?
Probably doesn't matter, just one of those unadressed issues that niggle at me.
well, he knew he had to get someone to replace him,so he knew it was nessacary. but yes..... that is annoying, but that's lost.
Similar to Locke and Ben now???? Hmmm.. Sessy, me thinks you is onta sometin... I like that theory!!
If Widmore was on the Black Rock originally it would explain why he was purchasing the journal of the first mate of the Black Rock when Dessy met up with him at Southerby's as well as his love of really aged scotch. You could be on to something Sessy.
To be honest, the whole Black Rock thing always throws me for a loop. All we actually know about it is that its smack in the middle of the island, and ooolllddd... but it had dynamite on it, and when Lostpedia writes about it, the dates dont add up, the ship was lost before dynamite was even created, or something like that. Danielle knew about the ship. Widmore wanted the log from the book, something just doesnt line up this ship! We need an episode devoted to just that one thing... who the hell was on it? What was its mission? How did it end up on the island?
Widmore, Richard and Christians names have all come up when ever anyone on the other Lost sites talk about Black Rock.... So at this point in the game, its all possible :D

Obviously he has a long relationship with Ben, whom he refers to as "boy." So he obviously knew Ben as a child. Was he in charge of Dharma? And maybe even nurtured Ben's relationship with the island, but Ben instead took over the island for himself?
If that's the case, there was a struggle even before Ben got there between the "Others" and Dharma, and Richard was working against Widmore too.
However, it could be that Widmore owned the island and was pissed with Dharma when they took over. Got Richard to nurture Ben to get back at Dharma, but then Ben betrayed him. Richard and Ben seem to be somewhat antagonistic. I get the sense that Richard was in charge before the island "chose" Ben.
It does seem clear that Abbadon, the creepy black dude, is working with Widmore to get Locke there.
My head is spinning already, and I've plain forgot what else I wanted to say! As is usually the case with Lost.
