fghasdf | 80 comments In an organization only known to the darkest of businessmen, children and adults alike are thrown into deadly missions for their employer's greed. The agents are quite used to it. Why they serve their employer varies from person to person. But the facts are simple: If you need a dirty job done, come to this organization with a large check; they'll get it done.

Now, three agents are receiving a new mission, an important mission worth two hundred grand. In the everyday town of Austin, TX
((Lol, sorry, but I think it's the city we know best)) there is an underground (not literally) network consisting of some of the world's greatest. What are they planning? That's for the kids to find out...

message 2: by fghasdf (new)

fghasdf | 80 comments Alex scowled at his reflection in the dark glass that separated him from the room behind it. He had no problem with his random missions. After all, they provided some source of entertainment in his dull life. However, group missions irked him. He saw no point in "working together" to finish a job he could complete alone.

Alex stepped into the debriefing room. The room was completely empty, no surprise there. The boy sat in one of two chairs in the room and rested his arm on the dark table in between the two seats. He was completely comfortable in this dark, somewhat intimidating place. After all, he had often come here as a child with a book in hand.

Seconds later, a man in sunglasses and a suit walked in. The man dropped a manila envelope onto the table and sat in the chair across from Alex. "Hello, Alex," he said stiffly. Alex nodded in response. The man then pushed the envelope towards the teen and said, "It's the usual drill. The instructions and anything you need to know can be found in the envelope." Alex simply nodded again. The man stood and left the room.

Alex was in no rush. He stood slowly and stretched before picking up the envelope and leaving. Once he made it to the comfort of his room (which was in the same building...), he opened the envelope. As he scanned the page in front of him, he raised an eyebrow. Two million USD for a packet of info, huh? He mused to himself. Utterly ridiculous but simple enough.

The mission was much more bearable to him now that he learned interactions between the agents wasn't required, only advised. He could find himself successful without any help at all.

((OCC: But we all know he won't cuz this RP wouldn't be fun without any other people. C'mon, join already. Lol, look at my long first post...)

Chrysta looked up at the tall, imposing building. Well, here goes nothing, she thought. She took a deep breath and pushed through the glass double doors and strode up to the front desk.

"Hello," Chrysta said to the receptionist. "I believe I have an appointment with someone? My name is Chrysta Davidson."

The receptionist smiled at Chrysta and pushed a button on her desk. "Right through those doors, and straight on up," she said, as a pair of doors slid open behind her.

Chrysta nodded in thanks and walked through the doors. She climbed up the winding staircase and emerged, not even tired, in front of a pane of black glass. Raising an eyebrow, Chrysta stepped through the door beside her and into a small room with two chairs and a desk in the middle of it.

"Hello, Chrysta," said a man in a dark suit and sunglasses, walking into the room. "I hope you're ready for your next mission. Everything you need to know is in here." He handed Chrysta a manila envelope. Chrysta nodded--she hadn't even sat down yet!--then waited for the man to leave. As soon as he did, Chrysta exited the room and left the building. Safely at home, she opened the envelope and reviewed its contents.

Well, well, she thought. A group mission where I don't know the other agents...this could be exciting.

message 4: by fghasdf (new)

fghasdf | 80 comments Alex ran a hand through his hair, mussing it up. Then he stood and left his room. He paced throughout the building. Although the boy was completely familiar with the building, he hadn't noticed where he ended up until he got there. The lab.

He sighed and stepped inside. A scientist looked up, startled at the sudden entrance. Then she smiled, recognizing Alex. "Hello Alex," She said graciously. "How have you been?"

Alex sighed. "Fair. I'm leaving for Texas soon. How are you, Eliza?"

The young woman, Eliza, shrugged. "Work's doing well. Test Subject 39 has been a success, thank God. After what happened to 37, I was beginning to have my doubts. But everything's working out," She explained wearily. "Wait...Texas? Why...what...ohh..." Realization dawned on her face. "Another mission?"

Alex shrugged. Eliza sighed and hugged the boy. "Oh, you've only been back for a week. They're sending you out again.?" Alex simply stared at the back wall in response. To tell the truth, Eliza was the closest thing he had to a sister, to a family. But, either way, he still felt...awkward embracing her. He drew away from the hug, turned to the side, and requested a pack be made, as if his visit had been purely business-based. Eliza's face fell and she nodded. But then she smiled and said, "Come back soon." Alex smiled in return, a rare occurrence.

An hour later, he left the building, his home, to be driven to the nearest airport. He could always use the private jet, of course, but considering the basis of his assignment, he decided it would be more prudent and less conspicuous to arrive by public transport.

((OCC: Agh. Another long post. So sorry, I'm still trying to get a feel for this Alex X guy. He's a weirdo...>> Hey, Bobbie, would you mind getting Chryta to the same airport so they con bump into each other or whatever? Please?))

We need another agent! *cough cough* Zelda? *cough*

Chrysta arrived at the large airport and looked around for her flight. Flight number 579... she thought, scanning the gates. Where could it--

"Oof!" Suddenly a boy, not looking where he was going, barged right into Chrysta, knocking her down. Instinctively she backflipped onto her feet, remembering too late that most normal people did not get up like that. The boy, who looked to be a bit older than Chrysta, straightened up. He was dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans, with dark hair that fell into his face messily. He eyed Chrysta suspicously.

((Well, there you go, Monica!! Bumped right into each other!! Alex seems like a suspicious guy...I wonder what he thinks about Chrysta's acrobatic move?))

fghasdf | 80 comments ((Lol. C: And yesh, Alex is a very suspicious guy. >D Moowahaha!))

Maybe coming to the airport wasn't such a great idea. Sure, it was inconspicuous, but there were idiots like this girl everywhere. (No offence, Bobby. He's just a meanyhead D: ) He took a deep breath, trying to stop himself from losing his temper. He had bumped into a blondie. A very...physically-able one too. He raised an eyebrow. "Watch where you're going," he said darkly, "punk."

Okay, so maybe name-calling was immature and rude. But she had collided into him! Now, that was rude. Alex was always irrationally irritated before the start of missions. Backflipping blondies didn't help his mood.

As he barged off (Lol, so rude) Alex didn't notice his boarding ticked float to the ground. Fortunately, the girl he had so rudely stormed away from did (Please?). Unfortunately, she also noticed the manila envelope the ticket was paper clipped to.

((Btw, Alex was just like "Oh, backflip. Meh, must be a gymnast or something." Yah...))

((Agh!! So rude!! If Chrysta ever heard his thoughts (and she might), she would totally want to kick his ***!! Stereotyping people is NOT ok!!))

Chrysta glared after the rude boy, then noticed that he had dropped his boarding ticket. Her eyes shot back up to follow him, and she just noticed that he held a manila envelope underneath his arm before he disappeared into the crowds. For a moment Chrysta was tempted to just leave the ticket on the ground--Serve him right to miss his flight, she thought--but then she sighed and picked it up. Unfortunately, she was a much nicer person than that (as her concience liked to remind her).

Chrysta scanned the boy's flight ticket. Hopefully he would remember where his gate was and Chrysta would be able to find him there. What was the flight number?

Chrysta blinked. Flight number 579 to Austin, Tx, the boarding ticket read. Well. That was...interesting. At least Chrysta wouldn't miss her flight chasing after that boy now.

When Chrysta arrived at the gate, she immediately scanned the area for the rude boy. She spotted him by one of the huge windows, staring out at the tarmac. His brow was furrowed and he looked worried.

"Hey!" Chrysta ran up to the boy and thrust his ticket at him. "You dropped this when when you ran into me, punk."

message 8: by fghasdf (new)

fghasdf | 80 comments ((...what's a tarmac? And I apologize for his behavior. But it's way more fun to write about a rude, conceited dude than otherwise.))

Alex looked up. The blond girl was standing in front of him again, this time holding out a boarding ticket, his boarding ticket. Oh... He took the ticket, tucked it into his pocket, and turned to the girl. "Thanks. And it's Robert." He smirked, "Besides you were the one who almost kicked me afterwards."

((Tarmac is the material they put on airplane runways. It's a lot like concrete. So when I say he's looking at the tarmac, he's just looking at the runway.))

"Kicked--?" Chrysta sputtered. She glared at him. "I was just getting up because you knocked me over! If you had actually been paying attention to where you were going, you wouldn't have been in danger of me kicking you. Which I didn't," she added. Why am I even bothering to talk to this stuck-up idiot? Chrysta asked herself.

fghasdf | 80 comments ((Oh...okay. See, I'm a little less dumb now! Thanks. C: ))

Alex/Robert raised an eyebrow at the girl's babbling (again, very rude of him. D: ). "Your ramblings will get us nowhere. How about you tell me your name so I can properly thank you for returning my ticket and then we'll each go our separate ways. You're bound to miss your flight if we continue to converse, ne?"

Making unnecessary acquaintances was unwise. His face would be more widely recognized if he did so. And having a well-known face was almost always a bad thing for him. However, somehow, arguing with the blond girl entertained him. So, unwise as it was, he continued to kill time talking to her. After all, it wasn't as if they'd ever meet again...

((Ooh, Alex is so wrong!! Chrysta will keep popping up in his life, just to torture him. At least, that's what he'll think...Mwhahahahahaha.))

Chrysta's face grew pink. "Whatever. Just call me Suzie." Agh! What was it about this boy that made him get under her skin so easily? She got along pretty well with most people...unless, of course, she was trying to kill them. But then, most people weren't arrogant jerks like this kid, Robert. "Besides, I won't miss my flight. You're on the same one as me. And, if I recall correctly..." Chrysta arched an eyebrow. "Your seat is right next to mine."

((Hahahaha!! Alex will have to endure sitting next to a really annoying girl all the way to Austin!! Which will be, like, 5 hours!! Yay!! Make the mean boy suffer!!))

message 12: by fghasdf (new)

fghasdf | 80 comments Alex's eyed widened in horror (oh, the horror! lol...) but he quickly regained his usual composure. Some part of his mind wondered why this back-flipping Suzy would be heading to Texas. Coincidence? Not likely...

He sighed and simply said, "Well then, thank you, Suzy. I appreciate you finding my boarding ticket and returning it. Hope you have a nice flight." He almost sounded...sincere.

And with that, he opened a novel her had brought with him and began reading, ignoring Suzy.

((It's Suzie, not Suzy. Get it right!!!))

Chrysta blinked. Robert sounded like he actually meant what he said. For a moment, he had not acted like the jerkwad who had bumped into her. Slightly confused, she sat down a chair or so away from Robert and took out her PSP. She thumbed the "on" switch and started playing an amusement park game.

"Seats 15 through 20, would all passengers in seats 15 through 20 please board the plane now." Chrysta put away her game and got in the line where passengers were waiting to scan their boarding tickets.

The lady at the scanner smiled at Chrysta as she scanned her ticket. "You're a bit young to be traveling by yourself, aren't you?"

Chrysta smiled back. "I can handle it." She glanced over her shoulder at Robert, who was scowling, and got on the plane.

He walked aboard, found his seat and sat down. And then he squirmed. Stupid public transport.

Tanith stood up and looked in the direction of her airplane companions, and scowled. Hopefully, they will not get in my way. She then walked over to the airplane exit, and bumped into the boy. She looked back and said,"sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going." Then jumped out of the plane, and onto the ground, landing perfectly on the ground with her baggage.

After collecting her baggage and exiting the airport, Chrysta found the bus that took passengers to her hotel and got on. She found a seat in the very back and took out her mission notebook, where she jotted down ideas and general things about her current assignment.

To Do:
1. Research underground orginization (not just with conventional search engines).
2. Who is lead person, or person with key knowledge? Find and research (includes staking out, etc.).
3. Practice defense and offense moves, as well as subtle info-gathering methods (i.e. mind-reading).

As soon as she arrived at the hotel, Chrysta checked in and went to her room. She had made sure that her room had access to free Wi-Fi, so now she pulled out her laptop, secured the network, and started research.

What's this? Chrysta frowned as she noticed unusually high levels of traffic on the connection she was using. Feeling annoyed--If someone was playing one of those massive online mulitplayer games--she ran a program and traced the source of the traffic to the computer in the room...next to her?

Scowling, Chrysta logged off her computer and powered it down, setting the usual safegaurds around it. She walked out of her room and to the room next to hers. She knocked on the door loudly, not really expecting a response.

fghasdf | 80 comments (Ah...too bad Alex isn't gonna be staying in the same hotel. Lol. My character has connections *Evil smile*)

After being knocked to the ground yet again, Alex took out his phone and dialed the usual number. Seconds later, a dark van pulled over to the where Alex stood. The boy hopped in and closed the door behind him. Sighing, he leaned back into the plush seat.

"Rough flight?" his driver, Bruno (YAYYZZZZ!!! Bruno!) asked, concerned.

"Mhm," Alex murmured. Bruno waited but that was all his employer had to say.

"Well," Bruno continued cautiously, "I assume you'll be going to the usual place..."

"Yes."

The two rode in silence until they reached Alex's destination. There, Bruno bid Alex a good day.

Once settled down in his "grandma's" house, Alex set up his fancy schmancy equipment up in the basement. His "grandma" wouldn't mind. After all, she didn't exist. That's right. The house had been bought by his employer for needed occasions such as this. It was a pretty good set-up, complete with vintage furniture and floral wallpaper.

So...with that, Alex put his feet up on his desk and dialed a contact number on his phone.

Chrysta smiled at the small girl politlely. "Sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help but notice that whatever you're doing is taking up most of the internet bandwith. If you could shut it down or pause it or something so that I can get on with my stuff, that would be great."

Back in her room, Chrysta sank down onto the edge of her mattress and thought. Why would this girl be hacking? Hacking was illegal, and doing it so that you could be traced was really, really, really not smart. Chrysta should know--she had learned how to hack when she was twelve. Of course, most of the time she didn't need to--her SA status gave her access to virtually every online source--but when Jon had viewed her hacking work, he had called her a master. This girl was very obviously a novice.

For one moment Chrysta was tempted to just let it go. Let the local police figure it out. It would be easy enough...but then she sighed. Her concience (sp?) could never let that happen. But before she turned the hacker-girl in, she wanted to find out why the girl was hacking in the first place. Unfortunately, Chrysta only knew two ways to find out that type of information. The first was torture.

The second was mind-reading.

((So, Zelda, Tanith is going to feel a kind of whisper in her brain, and can you pleeeeeeeeeeeease have her thinking about the mission when Chrysta is reading her mind?? Then Chrysta knows who one of her "partners" is.))

((okay.))
Tanith looked at her laptop and frowned. Gordo wouldn't approve, but I need this info. It could be very vital to our mission. And it could be held in this site. But then again that girl next door saw it. She sighed, and then turned off the laptop. She then walked over to her window, and made sure no one was watching. As soon as she was sure no one was there, she flipped out the window and onto the pavement perfectly. She then began walking out and into the city.

Chrysta's eyes widened as she withdrew from the girl's mind. What was she thinking, flipping out the window in plain sight? Just because she couldn't see anyone didn't mean that no one was watching!! What was wrong with this girl??

And why, if she was so bad keeping a secret mission
secret, was she assigned to Chrysta's mission? And who was this Gordo? Chrysta now had even more questions than she had started out with!!

Well, one good thing came out of this, Chrysta thought. Thanks to Tanith--for Chrysta had seen the girl's name in her mind--I now know that the city government is hiding something. Looks like we got a corrupt government offical on our hands.

Chrysta took out her cell phone and dialed Jon's number. He would want to know what she had found out.

Chrysta hit "play" on her iPod and the sounds of Anberlin filled her ears. After the call, Alex stretched and walked into the kitchen. He had a long mission ahead of him. Who knew when the madness would truly begin or when it would subside? He snagged a couple of cookies (YESH, THERE WERE A BUNCH OF RANDOM COOKIES LYING AROUND >D) and looked through the front window at the quiet neighborhood. He couldn't help but notice a rather familiar blond girl was walking down the street, messing with her iPod. Alex frowned. He had made sure to request a private neighborhood, one without teenage hooligans (LOL). How annoying.

The girl raised the MP3 up, scrolling through songs, facing the house in front of her. If she had a camera in front of her, it would look as if she were taking a picture, Alex mused. And he knew for a fact that a well respected government official lived in that very house. Of course, Alex knew the man's true colours. From experience.

He turned back into the the basement and carefully placed a couple of cases on the table. He couldn't bring them with him on the plane; they was sent by private jet. He opened a couple a organized the various explosives, poisons and gear.

Taking a pair of glasses, an MP3 and a cellphone, he left the house, checking the lock several times. (Haha, paranoid much?) He followed the blond girl causally, as if he himself were on a stroll, listening to music. As he put the head phones on, he tapped the side of his glasses. They focused on the girl in front of him. Though she was nearly a block ahead of him, he recognized her as Suzie, from the airport. Frowning, he considered the chances of meeting her again.

When she stopped at a hotel, Alex decided to station himself at the coffee shop across from it. He opened his phone and messed with the keys. To any normal passerby, it seemed as if he was texting a friend, like any normal teen would. However, he was really accessing information on the girl, Suzie. After cross-referencing the pictures his nifty glasses had taken, he was able to recognize her, Chrysta Davidson. Fourteen...Special Agent...MindReader... Alex smirked. He was onto something here.

Chrysta frowned. She had just gone over her plan, and nothing seemed to be amiss...so why was she feeling so uneasy?

Chrysta got up from her chair and crossed to her window. Narrowing her eyes, she looked out across the street. Sitting outdoors at a coffee-shop was a very familiar looking teenager texting on his phone. Robert? Chrysta thought in disbelief. What are the chances... Suddenly Chrysta remembered the very same boy tailing her on the way back to her hotel. How could she have been so stupid? Mentally cursing herself, Chrysta scowled at Robert and pushed into his mind.

Whoa. Chrysta staggered back to her bed and sank down. She had met some conceited guys in her life, but this boy was particularly full of himself. ((LOL!!)) Not only that, but his mind was insanely complicated. Usually it didn't take much for Chrysta to find out what she wanted to know by reading someone's mind, but now she had to sort through all the stuff that was going through Robert's head. Except that his name was not Robert, but Alex X.

Hmm...Alex X. The very orginization she was "working" for's golden boy. Chrysta wondered if Jon and the others had known that when they had assigned her this mission. Probably, she thought. And she had to work with him? Just when she thought life couldn't get any worse...except it always could. Not only did she have to work with him, he knew who she was. And her many abilities. Chrysta was surprised that Alex hadn't locked up his thoughts as soon as he had found that out. But then, she had already been in his mind when he read about her...it was doubtless that an agent like him would have plenty of practice gaurding his thoughts from unwanted viewers.

Chrysta got up and peeked out the window again. Alex was getting to his feet and looked ready to leave. Well, Chrysta thought, we both know who the other is now; there's no use pretending any more. Suddenly she grinned. Why don't I go say hello to my fellow operative before he goes?

((Heheheheh...more Chrysta and Alex!! Yay!! Now there's going to be a bunch of scowling and murderous thinking!! I just love our characters' interactions!!))

Tanith was horrified. She looked at the files that Gordo had sent her, and felt scarred for life. All the experiments and lab tests were on humans. Babies. And all of them painful and gruesomely mutated. Tanith couldn't take anymore of it, and turned off her I-touch, and then sat down on her bed, taking it all in.

((What the heck, Zelda? Is that stuff that the underground organization we're investigating is doing? 'Cuz if it is, that is sick!))

As Alex stood, he noticed his subject eying him through a window. Great. She knew he was here and had probably read his mind as well. Simply wonderful. As annoying as the girl was, Alex knew he'd have to work with her. Even if she wasn't assigned to the mission, he knew her and cooperating would be beneficial. Assuming she would cooperate with him. He sighed remembering the long plane flight not so long ago.

He walked towards the hotel as the blond girl exited it. Making sure his mind was firmly blocked ((Yah, he was taught this kinda stuff at the lab oO )), he smiled casually and said, "Hello, Suzie. It's been a while, ne?"

Then he dropped the act and glared at her. "What the hell are you doing here?"

((Lol, so sweet.))

Chrysta raised an eyebrow at Alex. "The same thing you're doing here, I presume. It's Robert, right? Or is it Alex? I seem to have forgotten..." Chrysta smirked at Alex's scowl. "Please, if you want to fight with me, can we do it somewhere else? People are staring at us. I believe many of them think that I'm your ex-girlfriend, and I'm sure we don't want to cultivate that impression."

((Dang, Chrysta! But it's true, everyone else witnessing Alex yelling at Chrysta thinks they're former bf and gf who totally hate each other. Heheheh...))

Alex rolled his eyes. "As if I"d ever date you, Chrysta." He paused; indeed, people were staring. "Here, let's go into the coffee shop over there." He pointed towards the building he had just left.

People just can't mind their own business, he thought. Ugh, locals always complicated things.

((Yes, that is EXACTLY the underground stuff.))
Tanith rubbed her temples, and then laid down on her bed. She looked up at the ceiling and sighed. She was too exhausted to do anything about it at the moment.

Ignoring Alex for the moment, Chrysta walked into the coffee shop and studied the menu. "I'll have a double capuccino, please. With extra whipped cream," she told the clerk behind the counter. Then she turned and looked at Alex. "Gonna order anything?"

Tanith laid there for a couple minutes, and then decided she needed a sugar boost. She walked out of the room, and then out of the hotel, and into the cofee shop, seeing Chrysta there. She sat at the table opposite of Chrysta and ordered a large chocolate coffee with extra whipped cream and creamer.
