1. Were you immediately drawn into the story or did it take a while?
2. Did the book intrigue, amuse, disturb, alienate, irritate or move you?
3. Who was your favorite character and why?
4. Which character did you relate to the most?
5. It is the relationships in Attie’s life that “salvage” her. How? Which relationship do you feel impacts her the most and why?
6. The author uses two first person points of view. Did having two view points add or detract from the book? Why do you think the author chose to use both Attie and Riley’s points of view?
7. What aspect of the book did you enjoy the most? The least?
8. Did you connect the struggles of Attie to your own life in any way?
9. Do you believe Jesus is a figment of Attie’s “overactive imagination” or is he actually appearing to her?
