How was everyone's night?

Well, Emma, I went to bed on time, and was glad for the extra sleep.... but sad that i didnt get my Lost fix last thursday!

However, on the flip side of that, we get three hours of Lost this thursday, starting at 8pm with a repeat (hope it is enhanced!) and then the two hour season finale!! Woo hoo

Aweesomme! I'll be here when the repeats on! I wonder what clues we'll get from the ehanced versions.....

I have to record it as my son's graduation dinner is on that night.His ceremony is today,yea for Kyle!So I'll have to stay out of this forum untill I've had a chance to watch.:(

It was great(the commencement) and he looked so handsome.I couldn't have been more prouder of him.
I already scheduled the recording for Lost,I had this horrifying vision that I would forget and then we would miss it.I would be very unhappy!

you can always watch lost on DVD, season 4 coming out in December on DVD i restarted watching greys anatomy, and boy do they still show so crazy bloody scenes? geez that is the lesson i learned on that one thursday night, never eat and watch that show oh man its crazy. Cant wait for next greys anatomy, 24 and ofcourse LOST

everyone is recording lost, i remember having class Wednesday night when they showed lost, it was crazy i was like speeding from college just to see LOST. Now that is when you know ur hooked when you actually dont care if you get a speeding ticket so that you dont miss an episode b/c is crucial not to miss it, otherwise you might not know what is happening later

Reading from the Lost Literature list helps a little as well.Just read Lord of the Flies and could see a little of the Lost episodes in it which gave me that great good Lost feeling.

Sherry, I totally hear you. I stocked up on Lost Lit at the library sale last week, and cant wait to start reading some of it. It will hopefully give me that 'back on the island' warm and fuzzy feeling again....

It was so cool to recognize the show in the book.I'm psyched to read more.

I think Mysterious Island sounds like a good one to keep the Lost feeling going strong.

hmmm,now you really got me interested.In my head Hurley was Piggy in the LOTF.

I never really thought abou that, when I read LOTF I was focusing on the way it showed how black our hearts are, but as to what Sherry said, I know if I agree that Hurley is Piggy. True, they are the heavy characters, but Piggy always has good ideas, and is fighting for unity and to keep all the other boys from going completely tribal. He is kind of like Ralph's assitant and Hurley never really played that role for Jack. On a broader note, the people on The Island have much more reason to go crazy and kill each other than the boys in LOTF do.

Does anyone remember the name of that show that they were promoting during the lost finale, the one we thought sounded good? I was wondering when its suppost to air?

Thanks! I don't want to miss the premier ... I am already looking for something to replace Lost when it finishes for good, and that sounded promising.

Laura-Michal;Piggy really wasn't Ralph's right hand so much as he supported Ralph as Ralph tried to apply reasoning and problem solving to their survival.Piggy was a thinker,someone who had a conscience and the ability to reason where the others didn't.Hurley applies this reasoning and conscience to the whole group whereas Ralph was the only boy who would listen to Piggy.
Piggy could be obnoxious in a way that Hurley never is and he contributes in a way that Piggy didn't or couldn't.

There are similarities other than their weight but there are obvious differences as well.

I think Hurley is a more loved character than Piggy but the similarities are surely not completely coincidence.

Maybe the writers thought Piggy got a bum deal and thought to improve the Hurley characters standing with the group?

Just a crazy thought to throw out there.

I have given up trying to watch new shows. I fell in love with Invasion, which used to come on after Lost a few years ago. it lasted only one season and they cancelled it. Bummer. And my kids and I used to watch Surface too... that was Monday nites I think, that same year, and that one got cancelled too....

It seems anything I really really like gets cut during the first season. Now, Lost, on the other hand, I didnt actually start watching till season 2.... so i think thats why that one is still on the air haa haa... (and Xfiles was the same way too)

My husband loved Surface.It was cancelled so quickly.I notice they are airing that again on Space channel.

TV sucks right now.I've been buying pre-viewed movies from Blockbuster to get my tv fix.

I haven't watched TV in ages. I just do goodreads now. Seen a lot of movies though. Saw Get Smart today, it was awesome.

Emma,have you seen any of the original Get Smart series and if so how do they compare?

Hmmm...I loved the series so much and I'm afraid the movie just won't measure up and I'll be disappointed.

I'm in the same boat, Sherry. I loved the Get Smart series, I watched it every night on Nick at Nite when I was a kid. While I love Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway, I'm really hoping they don't muck about with the characters too strongly.

Lori, it was having all of my favorite shows canceled that initially drove me away from TV when I was a teen. First, Space Above & Beyond fell beneath the onslaught. Then Earth 2 barely got a chance before it was yanked. It wasn't until Lost roped me in that I started paying attention to the cursed black box again.

Now there are two shows premiering in the Fall that I hope don't get canceled: the new JJ Abrams show, Fringe, and the new Joss Whedon show, Dollhouse.

We liked the 4400 the first season but then it got really weird and I just stopped watching, i wonder if it still going on or what...

Earth 2 was one of the few shows that all of us in the family would love to watch together(except Simpsons)We'd make sundaes with homemade chocolate sauce and settle in to watch one of the best shows on television at the time.We were so bummed when it was cancelled.

Sherry, you're right, Piggy wasn't really Ralph's right hand man, he supported him. I personally don't really see Hurley applying a lot of reasoning to the group, other than the fact that he seems to be a voice of peace; he doesn't seem to come up with any really original ideas, but he's always willing to help. I certainly hope he doesn't meet the same end that Piggy did.

i was bummmed when invasion and surface cancelled their seasons. it was like a schedule for me, Lost then invasion now its just Lost, 24, greys anatomy and some reality tv shows. i cant wait till football season starts then i will be mixing that with Lost

i have all the seasons on Dvd except for season 4 which releases on DVD in December, so i am looking forward to that, i favorite season is season 3 and Ben's performance in that season.

Another fave of mine is No Reservations, with Anthony Bourdein - he is awesome.

Last nite I had a dream that a bunch of us from this group and my other group The Next Best Book Club and some lost buds of mine from myspace all took a bus to an amuesment park, and we were all reading and talking about our books or listening to audio cd's (i was even listening to one in the dream and i havent ever listened to one before!) ..... and we never made it to the amuesment park becuase we kept stopping to run into bookstores and coffee houses to warm up and get new books.... it was hilarious, and such a disaster.. like we all had ADD and there was no one to keep us in line!

This proves to me that I am waaaayyy to addicted to goodreads and myspace and all the reading challenges i am in.... ugh!

Im even dreaming of it now.... the funniest part of it, we all looked like our aviatars. so Logan, you were a box robot in my dream, haa haa... And Lori, you were a half dressed Miss Piggy..

And I was an Emu? Interesting... I much rather go to bookstores and coffee houses than an Amusmet Park!

That was a great video, there's a lot that happened in Season 1 that I've forgotten about. I definitely need to rewatch all of Lost.

It made me think of something though. Jin, Sawyer and Michael went and spent several days floating in the ocean but they never had to deal with becoming unstuck in time or losing their minds. I wonder how the creators are planning on explaining that away.

well, didnt Faraday chalk it up to electromagnetic radiation? So Jin, Sawyer, and Micheal would not have had the exposure... the hatch didnt blow up till after they left, right?
Im pretty sure it doesnt happen to everyone. Then again, we arent too sure how far out they made it, either, are we?

Ive been renting dvd's....but nothing makes up for Lost...sadly my husband is not into the show so I have no one to sympathize with me :( but you guys LOL

there seems to be a circle of safety or a zone the you can't get out of unless you know the right co-ordinates...around the island...and desmond got hurt because he time traveled...it seems all te people that went from the frieghter to the island traveling in time too...the Dr showed up on the island before he was murdered... but those floating around the island on boats didn't seem to time travel...hmmmmm

Is anyone gonna watch this new show starting this Fall, called Frinch i think that is what its called? Its from the Co creators of Lost and transformers, it looks good, and i saw a character that appeared on Lost, in that show. It airs on Fox, and i will find out on what days, its something to watch, in order to pass the time up while we wait for Lost to come back on the air, Frinch or not i cant wait till the new season of 24 on Fox
