Sorry, I'm easily distracted. The movie was good. I loved when Didier, the french immersion student, stepped off the bus. His outfit was priceless!!! The hair reminded me of Flock of Seagulls and he was actually wearing a red mesh top that matched his red patent leather boots! Fantastic!!! You have to love the 80's!The 'scab' scene had me choked up a bit. Poor Lee, always getting picked on - no wonder he's such a brat.
My favourite part of the movie was how they showed Will's flights of imagination with animated doodles and the tin head scarecrow was pretty sweet too!
I just picked up Two Lovers when I brought this one back, so that's next.
Watched this during the weekend. By the time it was over, I was thinking what a charming little film.Sara: Just like you, I love the "imagination" scenes. For me, it captures quite well the flights of fancy of a very creative mind.
The ending was sort of predictable, but still leave me with all the warm-fuzzies.
Question: Just want to confirm that I did not misunderstand. When the French kids left the school, and Didier was sitting at the book, I was under the impression that among his French group, he was a social outcast, not the cool, popular guy that we were lead to think. Is that right?
That's what I figured too. I thought it was an interesting twist; it certainly made me rethink certain parts of the movie and see them differently then when I initially watched it.

Getting a hold of a camera changes everything for young Will (Bill Milner), whose ultrareligious parents forbid him to watch TV or go to the movies, in this nostalgic comedy from the team behind The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The film chronicles the unlikely friendship that blossoms between Will and class bully Lee (Will Poulter) when the latter recruits Will to help him make a home movie inspired by Rambo: First Blood.
Rating - PG-13
