Fantasy Book Club discussion

I've been a huge fan of J. V. Jones since first reading The Baker's Boy back in high school. It was about the same time I was finding some of my now-favorite authors like Dave Duncan, Tad Williams, and Robin Hobb. I finished (and loved) Jones' Book of Words trilogy and was very excited when she started the Sword of Shadows series, a somewhat-continuation of her previous trilogy. I grabbed a copy of each book as soon as it hit bookstands, but now it's been three years since the most recent book came out... Anyone else follow this series and concerned about it being finished?

For Baker Boy I feel the first book was really good, but the rest of the trilogy failed to live up to it.

Loved the bakers boy series but I've been waiting for her to finish the newer series before starting it (I call it the Robert Jordan rule). There is no new news on her website to say when the new book is expected.

I think there was a mentioning of her thinking about writing the new book of the series somewhere recently, but please do not quote me on this.

Wow, did this series really start in 1999??
16 yearsto get out 5 mid-sized books?

This is why I have since instituted Scott's aforementioned "Jordan RUle". (Not to start new series until they're complete or near-complete.)

Ooooops!!!!!

She regularly goes off the grid between books. Her website then becomes filled with bots. She releases a books cleans the website up and is around for a bit before rinse repeat.

So there is hope <3
