This isn't really "proof" but I think this is the way God wants us to live."I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.
So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
— J.R.R. Tolkien (The Fellowship of the Ring)

" it's just not one of those books you sit and read many pages of in ten minutes or whatever." haha yeah that makes sense only cuz I'm used to your awkward phrasing xD

Oh and let me just say Girl4beluga, if you don't agree with me then keep it to yourself. This is a Christian group.
Quotes don't prove anything...If someone said "God doesn't exist." does that automatically make it so? No, it doesn't. Just because someone once said a sentence doesn't make it true.
I know that God exists because his presence is just so painfully obvious in the world around us. I don't need quotes to tell me that. But quotes aren't going to convince anyone to convert to Christianity, only Jesus's love can do that.
Yeah...they're not really "proof" I guess.....put some of them are pretty funny. And true. I agree- we say they are true, but they are not proof.
How could the very earth function and animals and everything we know exist without a Creator? It simply makes more sense to believe that there is a heavenly Being that made all of this. If not, it could not just be "coincidence". OH, and no one is an Accident. God means for everything that happens, to happen.
All of our beliefs are tweaked from slightly to totally different from others around us, but I do appreciate your open-ness :) I believe that as long as you've got the key points of following Christ down, the denomination doesn't matter. I would be interested in hearing your opinion on this subject as well
Well, mine are very different in the fundamentalist view due to the fact that I tend to incorporate logic into my beliefs. So, my socialistic views tend to be very liberal, which means they disagree with the church in many ways. Yet, I am very conservative when it comes to a household and fiscal matters in todays world.Therefore, you could most definitely say mine are "tweaked". :-)
To-day, whatever may annoy,
The word for it is Joy, just simple joy:
The joy of life;
The joy of children and of wife;
The joy of bright blue skies;
The joy of rain; the glad surprise
Of twinkling stars that shine at night;
The joy of winged things upon their flight;
The joy of noonday, and the tired,
Trued joyousness of eventide;
The joy of labor and of mirth;
The joy of air, and sea, and earth-
The countless joys that ever flow from him
Whose vast beneficence doth dim
The lustrous light of day
And lavish gifts divine upon our way.
Whate'er there be of sorrow
I'll put off till to-morrow,
And when to-morrow comes, why, then
'Twill be to-day. and joy again!

I HATE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT'S SO CONFUSING AND MYSTERIOUS!!! AAAAHHHH!!! Just kidding, lol. But I do want to know who that was =)
I know who it is! It's Anastasia! I was looking on another topic and there was a time when she was chatting to me but now it just says deleted member.
Yeah, especially when it's someone you talk to a lot! And then you see their comments under "deleted member" in a discussion…
Exactly...ah well let's talk about something else- this topic is boring..not the topic topic, but what we're talking about...you know what i mean...
Yup. Since every skeptical "Christian" who joins this group always comments on the topic of this discussion, should I just change it to "Christian quotes?"
