I am glad I bought this book to read for this month's book challenge, it is diffinetly worth keeping.
I like the book reads like a mystery.
I like the book reads like a mystery.
I'm about 2/3 done with the book and it is taking on a new twist. I am not sure where it is leading too.
I'm just getting ready to start this one in the next day or so. It sounds like a good read.
Ok, so I'm 11 chapters in and I must say that I am enjoying this book alot. I thought I would have a hard time getting into it but it's turning out to be quit a surprise!
ok I got to pages 80 and had to put it down. I will finish it but geez it's rather long and dragging right now. i hope it gets better soon.

It gets in depth about the characters, the book picks up about halfway through.

i'm at page 143 and am liking it so far. Different reading a story from the perspective of a male. But i'm liking it this way. It seems like the book is about to get more interesting since he just found out what lena and her family are.
I am about 3/4 done with the book, I am picking up hints that maybe Ethan's mom isn't really dead. I guess I will have to read futher.
I just finished and must say that I really enjoyed it. As I said in my review, I'm surprised that some are finding it slow, because I was drawn in from the start (only an early delivery of Lover Mine delayed my finishing of it).I thought Ethan and Lena's relationship was very sweet and emotional. As we saw it develop over time it felt believable and more intense as a result.
My only negative critique is that after all of the build-up, I thought the ending was wrapped up too quickly. I'm assuming that any of my lingering questions will be addressed in the next installment.

Considering I thought it was a BFB I blew thru it pretty fast.
I just finished reading it and I really liked it too. I didn't think it was slow especially since it kept you guessing about what is going to happen next. I too was looking for a bigger ending but i guess they had to do it that way to make room for the next book.
I like Ethan and Lena's characters loved how their relationship was built over time instead of in one chapter. It made it seem more real for it be drawn out throughout the book.
Ok, Melodie what is BFB? I've never seen that one before.

For some reason I really enjoyed the first half of this book but i'm really finding it hard to get threw the last half. I hope to get it finished in time.
Ok Ok I picked it back up and I am still having trouble. I like the mystery of it but it really is dragging for me. I hope i finish before the month is out.
Ok so I finally finished this book. My over all rating has to be 3 stars. I enjoyed the beginning of the book but found it really boring in the middle and then it got better again towards the end. I will probably continue on reading this series but it will one of the ones where it will be when I get to it I get to it. I also thought it could have been about 100 pages shorter, there is only so much detail a person can take. I can't say i'd recommend this book but it was interesting in that the premise was unique.Maybe the next one will be better!

It was easy to read but my interest waned every now and then so I had to put it down a lot. If it had been shorter I might be more interested in reading the sequel, if the reviews are good I may try again.
I will probably give the second book a try but I won't be rushing right out to get it, like you I'll wait and see what kind of reviews it gets before spending the money on it.
I thought this book was rather big and overwhelming but still loved it. I hope the next ones just as good as this one was.
I am so glad I was able to finally read Beautiful Creatures and really look forward to Beautiful Darkness. The story led down paths that were expected, yet turned out fresh and unexpected; I enjoyed the depth of character and relationship development and I agree with Melodie, the unfolding of the story from Ethan's point of view added to the experience. The setting was described is such a way to envelop the reader in the atmosphere and the time periods. I was fascinated by the changes in the decor at Ravenwood!
To this adult reader some of the high school moments were more fleshed out than I needed, but I have to consider the target audience too!
