This one is by far my favorite Palahniuk book. Which one is yours BESIDES Fight Club?

lullaby is a great book. its almost a clinic in chuck's writing style. if i had to pick one besides that, i dunno... i think i would pick RANT, because it was such a conscious departure from chuck's consistent voice.
My favorite is a tie between Invisible Monsters and Survivor. If I had to pick one I guess it would be Survivor, but they're pretty close.
I liked Rant, but I can't explain why it was great. Actually sometimes I think it wasn't any good and I just wanted it to be good. Does that make sense?

For instance in Survivor there were all those cleaning tips, in Choke it was all those emergency codes.
Choke, the novel and Rant were my favorites. Diary wasn't bad. Invisible Monsters and Survivor are probably his best work along with Fight Club.
Survivor's my personal favorite, and I also love Invisible Monsters and Choke to death. Fight Club too, of course, but I feel the three after Fight Club were where he really developed his style.
Haunted is a thing of beauty! The story called GUTS is some of the finest writing ever! The stories in this book make wonderful bedtime stories.
Survivor is his best, Invisible Monsters his worst. I didn't even finish it, such as I detested having to spend any more time with the characters.
So far I've read Survivor, Lullaby, Fight Club, Rant, Choke and Diary. My favourites were probably Choke and Rant. I was only disappointed by Survivor.
Rant, it reminded me of Vonnegut. I also enjoyed Lullaby, Survivor, and Choke; the others I can do without.
+1 for Survivor. Darren wrote: "Invisible Monsters his worst. I didn't even finish it, such as I detested having to spend any more time with the characters."
You missed quite much.
I'm sure I did, but if I have to force myself through a hundred pages of drivel to get to "much" then I'll be quite happy to read something else that doesn't require suspension of boredom.
"Lullaby" is great, as are several of his others - but if anyone wanted what you might call a Palahniuk sampler, and at the risk of encouraging people to plop into the middle of things, I'd suggest having a quick look at Chapter Seven of "Invisible Monsters". The mix of the hilarious and the deeply irreverent is right there, though it's well worth reading the six chapters that come before it as well.
Choke and Survivor top my list. The introduction to Choke, challenging the reader directly, sets the stage for fantastic, despicable main character. I also enjoyed Survivor's savage attack against TV preachers and feined worship. There is a particularly impressive rush of writing in the novel: "Being famous means saying 'yes'" is a piece that has stuck in my mind. It is followed by a burst of writing that makes the story soar.
Survivor, Rant, Diary, Fight Club are his best. The others don't even come close, though Choke is pretty entertaining.
Choke is hilarious.Haunted and Rant are good fun.
Aside from Fight Club and Survivor the rest are fucking terrible.
I've only read Lullaby. It was so ridiculous, I doubt I will read another of his books. No, not even Fight Club.
I have read them all. SURVIVOR. seriously. The new messiah from a death cult. I have lost this book three times and instantly rebuy it. (What happens when you lend books)

Give him another chance. All his books are weird but they are all unique. Choke, diary and survivor are amazing. Pick one up when you can.
Haunted ... it's just so engrossing and gross sometimes, followed closely by Survivor. I like all of his stuff though.
Invisible Monsters, hands down. I've only read two more books by Palahniuk: Survivor and Lullaby, both are very good and incredibly original as most Palaniuk's books(from what I'm told), but Invisible Monsters was the only one that actually changed my way of thinking/acting towards life. It actually sounds stupid at first but the whole concept of "Find what you're afraid of most and go live there." has helped me develop as a person in times I did not think I was strong enough or good enough, or in simple daily situations that you know your life doesn't depend on it but taking action could mean improving yourself greatly but quietly, if you know what I mean...
Bounces back and forth between Choke and Invisible Monsters... most of the time, Choke since the story is a bit more grounded... after that, it's fight club; followed by Survivor, Damned, Rant in that order. Lullaby and Diary I didnt care much for but i might need to reread because i enjoyed both Survivor and Rant very much the second time around... ( i might have been burnt out on ole' Chuck at the time)
Snuff was just meh while pygmy was god awful... Tell-All was weak and his two Non-Fiction were pointless because it seemed as if i'd read all the stories before which made up his books.
the most disappointed i've been with Chuck comes from Haunted... some of the short stories that make up the book are wonderful... but the overall story tying them together is some of the worst "story" i've ever read...

He went back to the novel, scrambled some scenes around, added new material, and I think it is the best of his I have read...although he is a very frustrating writer.
