I do reread books that are my favorites. Sometimes after reading a book that bombed, it's nice to go back to an old favorite.
I also reread books, usually before the next book,a movie, or a tv show of the book comes out. For ex when the next sookie stackhouse comes out, i'll probably reread the last book so im caught up on what happend last
I was always big on never reading the same book twice. Well...these days I'm reading so many different series that I would be completely lost if I didn't at least skim the last book. The Mercy Thompson series is the first that I completely re-read before the newest book came out. I don't think I got anything new out of the books, it was just a good memory boost before continuing the story.
I never really used to reread books until....(please don't laugh)the Twilight Saga. There was a 3 month period where I read it over and over again. (Maybe 6 times -OK, I admit it and I am definately not a teen)I had never done that before EVER. It's not because it was great literature, just because it was a great escape for me at the time. I also read Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series a second time. I am lucky that I read really fast. I can read a book in about a day, so I do have books that I have set aside to reread - Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Hush Hush, Beautiful Creatures and a few others. But my to-read list is huge so...unless I haven't been to the library (or was unlucky on my book hunt) I probably won't be rereading those books in the near future.
Plus reading all day means other things don't get done....

I haven't reread any books yet simply because I have SO MANY I want to read that spending time on reread right now would prevent me from dwindling away at my massive To Read pile.
I have found that I love the Graphic Novel versions of books though. It's been really fun reading the Anita Blake GNs. I have Twilight's right now and am looking forward to the Mercy Thompson GNs as well as any others that come out.
