Agree with the first four, but I'd be careful about letting another survivor get too close. They might not be infected, but could still be after your supplies.

Honestly, you'd best just follow other real life survival guides for preparing your family for natural disasters and what not, or be hard core and prepare for an EMP attack, both would work well for a zombie outbreak.

It would depend on how the infection was spread and it's original cause. A vaccine might work, unless it's one of those diseases which bring back those already dead and buried. You can't inoculate the dead since they have no circulation to move the serum throughout the body.

Of course, I don't have a medical background, so I'm only guessing here.

Hello*Logan: If you're interested in tales like that about 'real' zombies, I highly recommend Wade Davis' book "The Serpent and the Rainbow". While the Wes Craven film is okay, he makes changes from the book to go for the scares.
