Thank you for joining The Dark Hunter World.

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to your fellow DH lovers. :)

I'm Holly, 36 and living in NJ. I first discovered the world of the Dark Hunters in early 2009. I picked up Fantasy Lover, and even though I felt like it sounded like a silly premise, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad i did, because it not only made me fall in love with Sherri's writing, but also introduced me to the entire Para-Romance genre.

And I haven't looked back yet. :)

Stav (voliotisa) | 13 comments Hi! I'm Stav, 30 and from New York. I read my first Dark-Hunter book back in February of 2009, at the recommendation of a friend. Although I've read plenty of Urban Fantasy and some Paranormal series, it was my first PNR series, which I quickly read within 2 months.

It also made me want to find a DH of my own lol

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 18 comments Hi! Thanks for the invite, Holly. I love the DH series, although I'm really behind. Glad to be a part of this group.

message 4: by Alycia (new)

Alycia Hi everyone! Thanks for the invite Holly! :)

Zeek | 20 comments Hi everyone! The DH's were the books that thrust me into my PNR/UF love. (Read Night Pleasures first and didn't look back!) Some books are better than others in this series, but I just can't resist snatching them up as soon as a new one's released!

(Altho I'm srsly thinking of skipping the Nick chronicles. Just not a YA fan enough to really care.)

Sans Hi Holly! Thanks for the invite. ^_^

I'm Sans and I've read only Fantasy Lover so far. I didn't like it much at first but it's definitely grown on me. I've picked up the next few books and hope to read them soon.

Welcome Sans!

Fantasy Lover was an adjustment for me as well, but the series only got better IMO.

message 10: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Hey, Holly, thanks for the invite :)

Hey, guys, I'm Leah. I'm 17 and I live in Illinois. I was introduced to Sherrilyn Kenyon in 2009 when I found Born of Night at the store and bought it on an impulse. After that, I bought Fantasy Lover and I've been a goner for the Dark-Hunters ever since. There's about 4 of the books (not including the anthologies) that I haven't read and I'm hoping to get them soon :)

I'm looking forward to chatting about the Dark-Hunters/Were-Hunters/Dream-Hunters with you ;)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I am Samantha I am 30yrs old live in Colorado, I currently live with my mother and youngest brother with my 3 children. I am not ashamed of it either, I am able to admit that I cannot take care of my children on my own at the moment and with the economy, who can afford to live alone anymore?? I am a full time student obtaining my BA in Journalism emphasizing in Public Relations with my minor in marketing.

I was turned onto the dark hunter series because EVERYONE, I MEAN EVERYONE I associate with on her has rant and raved about how awesome they are and welp they are right they are AWESOME! I just got done reading Kiss of the night earlier this afternoon It's so far my fav of the series, once I am finished with the April challenge I will be continuing on to the series.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 18 comments Waving hello to everyone! Zeek, Night Pleasures is what got me hooked on paranormal romance. Isn't that funny?

message 16: by Heather C (new)

Heather C (heathercook) Hello everyone! (Thanks Zeek for the invite)

I'm 27 yr old RN from Louisiana. I have always loved to read. I only discovered UF/PNR a few years age and now thats about all I want to read.

I read all the books back to back last year. I agree some were not so good, but I could't help myself. I actually really like Fantasy Lover and Acheron.

Samantha wrote: "I love the Dark hunter series, even though I am only 5 books in. LOL!"

We all had to start sometime, Samantha. :)

message 26: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Oh Yeah totally agree! It took me forever to get the first one read I always had a list of 20+ books requested at the library and I would get it and not get to it before it had to be returned then, i would have to wait forever to get it back...finally I gave up on the waiting for the library and went out and bought it and well, here we are.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 18 comments Thanks for starting the group. It's nice to have a place to chat about the DHs, who mean so much to us.

message 28: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) my dreams will never be the same LoL.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 18 comments I love how she's taken the Greek myths and given them a modern appeal, without taking out the essence of what made them what they are. I think she's a really good storyteller.

message 30: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Oh me too, I love the whole intertwining of the greek mythology with a different form of vampirism. definitely keeps me intrigued, also the main characters are just so yummy! :)

Thanks for the invite!

I'm going to be 29 next month... I really didn't want to remind myself. I am a single mother of three boys and go to school for Biological Sciences, History, & Religious Studies.

I love to Travel, Read, Scrapbook, and my new found stress relief is blogging. (I now have three, LOL! One for everything, one for books, and one for travel.)

I Just finished Night Embrace but I am really hooked on the DH series. (I also love Born of Night, Born of Fire, and Born of Ice.)

message 34: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Wow, Elyssa. Single mother of three boys? That's intense. Are they real young? Oh, and welcome to the group :)

Welcome Elyssa! You have your hands full, I admire you.

message 36: by grumpybybirth (new)

grumpybybirth | 5 comments Hi I am am Sheri I am 32. My sister introduced me to the world of DH's, she picked up a book in the middle of the series. We fell in love and started from the beginning and with every book we became more and more hooked. Sherrilyn has a way of writing that makes you fall in love with each and every one of the charachters, that you forget they are not real.

Holly (velvetsun) | 119 comments Mod
Welcome aboard, Sheri. :)

message 38: by Judit (new)

Judit | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Judita, I am 22 and I come from Slovakia.I picked up this series after reading black dagger brotherhood. I wanted something similar, but I got something much better...My favourite character is Valerius, but I love whole "New Orleans crew" :)I am glad I found this group and I hope more and more people will join here.
PS:Sorry for my bad English, but I used to sleep a lot during English lessons:)

Ang -PNR Book Lover Reviews (pnrbookloverreviews) | 295 comments Holly You would be proud to no i have finished Fantasy Lover and i loved every bit of it, i didn't think it was chessy as many people have told me it would be.. I thought it was great,Hot Sexy and Julian Wowzah!!!!

message 40: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Ang, I am right there with you. I really don't think it's that cheesy, but a lot of people say it is! But man, that Julian. Mhmmm, sexy stuff ;P

message 41: by GinBee (new)

GinBee (jennymbee) | 4 comments Hi I'm Jen and I've just finished Fantasy Lover which I really enjoyed. Want to read the rest of the books now :) Are they best read in order or does it not matter too much?

Ang -PNR Book Lover Reviews (pnrbookloverreviews) | 295 comments Hey Je, me to :)
Leah i can't wait!!

message 43: by grumpybybirth (new)

grumpybybirth | 5 comments I personally think in order is a very important thing. Sometmies things are given away in later books. Not to mention characther are reintroduced alot.

message 44: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 26 comments Thanks for the invite Holly. I finally found a spare minute to stop by.:-)

I'm Julie, 40 and happily married with two kids. I started the DH series back in 2008 with Fantasy Lover which I absolutely loved. It made me eager to dive into the rest of the series. I'm up through Night Play which I just finished a couple of months ago, and am planning to read one of the novellas this month. Some of the stories have been better for me than others, but I'm still going and have lots of catching up to do. My favorite heroes so far are Zarek and Vane.

message 45: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Welcome, Jen and Julie!

Jen, like Sheri, I personally think they are best read in order. Take it from someone who knows, I have read them out of order and sometimes I don't quite understand things/characters from previous books. And situations and characters always show up again, especially since some of the books overlap with their time frames.

message 46: by grumpybybirth (new)

grumpybybirth | 5 comments I read them out of order in the beginning (read Acheron like 3rd) and was totally confused. When I went back and read them in order I understood so much more and was able to follow the story line and the charachters so much better.

message 47: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) That's kinda what I did, too, Sheri. I read all the ones I had out of order, but now I try to read them in the right order when I do re-reads of them.

message 48: by Leanne (new)

Leanne (barnzee) Hi everyone,
I'm Leanne, 19, from Edinburgh.
I am a complete newbie to this series having just completed Fantasy Lover after 5 hours of reading; I couldn't put it down! I love it when I can find a series that can completely distract me and this one is succeeding; keeping me out of my university revision :S
Oh well, off to read the next one :)

Ang -PNR Book Lover Reviews (pnrbookloverreviews) | 295 comments Hey Leanne i did the same thing i couldn't put it down. so i can't wait to read this series..
if all books were as hot as this one *shower scene* wow i would be a happy camper!!!!
