I completely fell for this band when I heard, "Take You on a Cruise." That's my favorite song ever. "Our Love To Admire" is a fantastic album. You can see their growth as artists. I never get to talk to enough Interpol fans. Anyone else on here like Interpol.

Yay! Another Interpol fan. I can listen to some of their songs like ten times in a row. Truly, I am obsessed with Interpol. :)
Oh, me too, Melanie. I love Paul's voice.I had a chance to see them and I didn't go. I'm kicking myself now!
Oh, they are touring again in November? I'll keep an eye out. As a matter of fact, I do like White Lies. :)
I love Interpol too. I'm saddened that Carlos D. has left the band. :( (I've had such a crush on him for ages. Especially during his Crispin Glover phase.)My favorite Interpol songs are Stella She was a Diver and she was always down, leif erickson, the new, obstacle 1 & 2, slow hands, take you on a cruise, narc... Okay I love all of them. I listened to Interpol as my soundtrack for many a book series. I can't help it as they are quite sexy.
The Julian Plenti album never really grew on me though.
Oh, I didn't know he left. That's going to change their sound, I think. I think Take You on a Cruise is so romantic and sexy!
Carlos D performed on their last record. He won't be on the tour though. :(I so agree take you on a cruise is sexy. I hate it when I have to turn the song off before the end finishes if I have to go back to work or something.
I just heard a new song after their new record on the way to work this morning. It sounds great. Can't wait until it comes out.
The song is called "Barricade." FYI, the new CD, called "Interpol" is $7.99 for pre-order on Amazon.com. It comes out on September 7.
I bought the new Interpol, and I love it. The songs aren't as singing-friendly as the ones on "Our Love to Admire," but I really love it. All the musicianship of this group is readily apparent. I'm wearing it out in my car cd player. It's $9.99 at Target and Amazon.com.
Might have to check it out. THe only song I'd ever heard from them (get read for the most awful phrase you'll ever hear from me), on Guitar Hero.

I actually really like the new album. It's nothing compared to TOTBL or Antics..but it's growing on me.
I think I've listed to the sounds on the new album about 100 times so far. My faves are:Memory Serves
Summer Well
Barricade
Try It On
Safe Without

I'll have to listen to it again and get back to you.
They are a New York City postpunk band. The vocals are a bit like Joy Division, and they are guitar and base-heavy. Some bands with their sound would be Editors, Yeah Yeah Yeahs (except with a male vocalist), Franz Ferdinand (sort of), The Killers (sort-of). Here is a link to some interpol vids on You Tube:
