Eastofoz What exactly is "world music"? I've always seen it as "odd" music that no one really listens to.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) isn't Celtic Women considered world music?

message 4: by Sans (new)

Sans I think so, Pamela. At least, that's the default genre iTunes gives it...

LinBee My husband being from Trinidad has turned me on to Chutney/Soca music. Also, from his family Bollywood/ Hindi music. But I doubt there is a big call for those in this group! Darn!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) World music is a general categorical term for global music, such as the traditional music or folk music of a culture that is created and played by indigenous musicians and is closely related to the music of the regions of their origin.

Taken from Wikipedia.org.
