Kelly Sheffield | 15 comments i have to admit that my Fever Radio is one of my favorites. my husband mocks me but i don't care!! as long as it doesn't take that strange turn after hours of play and surprise me with Liza Manelli( that has happened)

message 2: by Sans (new)

Sans I have a couple of saved stations on Pandora.com too, but there are some straaaaaange tunes that randomly come on at times. Example: Why would I want to listen to Coldplay if my station is geared towards punk??

message 3: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) I never had anything weird like that happen at Pandora. Although they do keep playing the same songs over and over.

I discovered Jack Johnson on Pandora.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I still need to check it out. I never remember when I'm at home. Can't access it at work.

Kelly Sheffield | 15 comments sans, your right. i use it on my Roku, and the quick mix likes to focus on maybe the same 15 artists. also, sometimes it helps to add a few different artists in the same genre, for some reason you get more variety. for me it is the easy way out, i'll spend all day slaving in the sewing room, and never have to get up and change cd's(as long as Liza doesn't make an appearance)

Jerrod (liquidazrael) Pandora's alright, it's seemed to turn into a general radio station... playing many tunes over and over, at least for us free users anyway.

message 7: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Sheffield | 15 comments yeah, you get what you pay for.

message 8: by Jerrod (last edited Apr 08, 2010 01:20PM) (new)

Jerrod (liquidazrael) Not really, but sometimes it helps people.

Like pandora's case, I could pay to skip adds, customize and other things, but it does nothing for the issue of repeating of songs.

message 9: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) I'm not paying for Pandora. No how. No way. Those commercials are annoying.

message 10: by Sans (new)

Sans I wouldn't pay either. That's what my iPod is for. I don't need "new" music if I need some background noise.

message 11: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) Eggsactly! I've already got hundreds of my favorite songs on my iPod I could just play if I want to hear something good.

I used Pandora at work when I'm in my 4th floor cage and am doing mindless work. It has been great introducing me to new music I wouldn't know about since I don't listen to the radio or read music mags.

This is the first I ever heard of it. But it's way cool. I went and made me an 80's hair band station.

message 13: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I discovered Patti Rothberg on Pandora, and look where that went.
But since a lot of my music is the same, I tend to get the same stuff over and over and over.

Tressa (moanalisa) Throwing the *devil's horn* sign your way, Lori. "Bang your head," girl.

Jena (outlanderfan74) I was fascinated by the "music genome project" when i first learned about Pandora. The concept is great, but I agree with everyone here, they have a problem with song repetition. On a positive note though, I have discovered some musical gems on my classic soul station. It seems like you have to work with your stations, but eventually you get them around to a good combination of what you like and new music discovery.

Jango http://www.jango.com/music/?l=0 is another place to hear cool free music on your computer. I have made 3 stations. The one i've been listening to all day to day is my Divas station. Not too much repetition. They also mix in some new artist. I really like it.
