Caren Cahill (caren36) | 39 comments That is super easy for me. There's the Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong: The Summoning, The Awakening and The Reckoning. Also the Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Clare: City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass (another one comes up next year).

I think they are both awesome series and those who I've reccommended them to have loved them as well. Grant it the love portion of them is the minor story line, but still great but they are more action pact!

has dark power got a love thing to it?

message 4: by Caren (new)

Caren Cahill (caren36) | 39 comments Yeah but totally minor because the whole series takes place over like three weeks I think. She doesn't end up with the guy till the end of book 3 but you don't even notice really

NO, not cool, is there like chemisty then, between them, throught books one and two or is it just three?

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

The Hunger Games!!!!
It's amazing!
There are others but I'd take around 2 pages to list all of them!

no way seriously, I'm ordering them ASAP, they sound brill!
What are the about exactly?
*Answering Sophia*
I love the hunger games too, I can't wait for the third book to come out I do hope peeters ok though, I'm falling for him, in that book, anyway.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay!!!
Another Peeta fan!!!
You should join the group!

message 10: by Caren (new)

Caren Cahill (caren36) | 39 comments Jade- They are about this group of kids that have supernatural powers and they meet in a group home which they end up escaping and go on the run. I don't wanna give away too much info though. All three are pretty fast paced so that's a plus too!!

*Caren* I'll definatly add them to my wish list.

*Sophia* even though I spelt his name wrong, yes, I'm also a big fan. I think it's kind of him to help katnis out when she needs it, but I think she needs to help him now, he's basically given up if life for her and now he's about to die, because of her.
is the thirs book out by you yet, it doesn't come out here for ages yet.

Jade (jadeadel) | 90 comments Mod
the hunger games. you have got to have read that Mandii? come on.
I have no idea what the lost recipe for happiness is, but I'll look it up.

message 14: by Christina (new)

Christina I love the Hunger Games series. And as much as Peeta is sweet and will do anything for Kat...I like Gale more!

Some other books that I'm in love with are Sea Change by Aimee Friedman, if you haven't read that I recommend it and I think she is coming out with a sequel for it sometime too. It's a new take on the mermaid myth. Also, if you liked the Hunger Games you might like The Maze Runner series by James Dashner, it has a similar feel to it but is told from the POV of a boy. I also really loved the Host, I know it's not really YA like the rest of the ones being mention and it's not really a myth genre but I love a good body snatchers story with a real feel for humanity in it.

A couple real mythology style books that I liked in the YA genre were Elphame's Choice and Brigihd's Quest both by P.C. Cast.

So what other books do you guys like? I've never read the Mortal Instrument series. What are they about? Are they worth buying or borrowing?

message 15: by Caren (new)

Caren Cahill (caren36) | 39 comments Christina- I totally agree on Sea Change and The Maze Runner! Both pretty good books!

The Mortal Instruments are kinda hard for me to explain without giving much away but I totally recommend buying them. I've read the first two more than once (holding off reading book three again till it's closer to when the unexpected book four comes out next year). I knew I wanted to reread them when I wasn't even done book 1 for the first time!

message 16: by Christina (new)

Christina I'll have to check out the mortal instrument series!

And yeah the host was good. I liked the twilight books and all hut I thought the host was better

I have read all the books except the ones by P.C. Cast and the Maze Runner.
*Caren* I can't believe you haven't read the third book yet. I spent $21:99c to have it posted to me from America! I know it's crazy but when you live in ENgland, half the books take about three months before they reach us. the same book, City of Glass was put on the shelves about six months ago.
*Christina* Hey,the Mortal Intrument eres is totall mythical, but in a different wa toevery other book.
You have vamps and weres and fay, butthere is also something called shadow hunters. and you basically see out of a half shadow hunter. it is dificult to explain, but theyare worth the money.

Amanda (amandaschuit) | 41 comments *christina* hey, i've read Elphame's Choice and Brighid's Quest and i thought they were really good but i had also read the Divine series by P.C. Cast and i founf that there were some mistakes in Brighids Quest which confused me but i got the hang of it once i kept reading. oh and if you dont know what the Divine series is, well elphames choice and brighids quest were like a seperate series but they were in the future while the divine series was in the past when the war was happening in case you were wondering and there good to, you should read them.

message 19: by Caren (new)

Caren Cahill (caren36) | 39 comments Jade- I've read the third book! I meant I haven't reread it lol. I think I've read it in like one day!

I Haven't read the Divine series, I'm not fond of things back in time, I like the here and now books.

I like the books in the present, don't mind a bit of flashback but not the whole book. Not a fan of books set in the future either.

I have to admit here, thatI'd rather have a book set in time, if it was the present, past or future rather than flashbacks, god I can't stand flashbacks. they pull you out of the book, you know?

message 23: by EmmaDenton (new)

EmmaDenton | 17 comments i dont really like books set too much in either the future or the past. but i can live with a bit either way.
