I didn't see this topic before I wrote what I thought about the epilogue in the "what would you change" topic. Anyway, I don't like the epilogue.
I think it's too cheesy. I'm not against a happy ending, but the epilogue seems so sentimental. The names of Harry's kids - especially Albus Severus - are just too sweet.

YEah, i don't really like the names... i think she should have come up with something more original? I mean did Ginny have any say in what the kids were to be named?
I liked the names because they reflected people who were important to Harry and I think that Ginny would have suported those choices.
I agree with Pandy. The ending was just too cheesy... too sweet. Specially the naming. Seems like they are trying to create an entire new generaion based on the people who were dead. I understand naming them Lily, and even James... but all of the kids? It feels like they were waiting with a list of dead people waiting to see if the next kid was a girl of a boy .... and they would just give them the next name on the list.
Too tacky.
I think that it was a little cheesy but I still liked it. And I think the names are perfect. I mean he couldn't just name them something random in my opinion. I think it was nice. A lot of people are named after family members or family friends anyway and I don't see anything wrong with that...

YEah, i've never really been into the whole named after a dead relative thing. I think Lily was cute but Albus Severus was a little over board, plus with that i think the kids would be seen as named after famous people and not as there own individual selves. They're already going to be famous... ahah i'm reading way too much into this!
Exactly, the kids should have been named according to their personality. Like if the first girl had eyes like Harry, she could have been called Lily. Or the kid who was very naughty as soon as he was born could have been James ... you get the general idea.
Well yes but they would have already thought about names... I don't think the personality defines the name...I think that people make whatever they want out of their name...
If you wanna read more about the kids, you have to wait another five years or so, after which JKRowling is going to write again, possibly about the kids. Or alternately, you could try the James Potter series by G. Norman Lippert.
I don't think I really want to read the James Potter fanfiction. I guess it's just because of a mental block I have, but I only want to read about the kids if JKR writes it (I don't actually think she should write complete novels about them, but short stories and/or information in an encyclopedia would be nice.). I usually don't read fanfic - I've never read Cassie Clare's famous Draco Trilogy - except for the occasional short story.
I was surprised too when I found out about the James Potter series. I always though JKR was going to write about them herself after a decent break.

it is a Fanfic that G. Norman Lippert wrote about Harry's kids. he continues the world of harry potter. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25...

and i thought the ending was nice. it wasn't the best or anything, but i thought it left you feeling a bit nostalgic.
I don't know if downloading is legal or not, but I only found them on goodreads ebooks, nowhere else!! And they looked too sorted-out for a fan-fic, with a cover illustration and index and all that. Looked like a real book to me.
I think Mirza is - the JP books do look like "real" books, although they are fanfic. It's perfectly legal to download them.
