Kat scanned the row of lockers, looking for one in particular, the one she was aware that no one used this year, but one that she knew very, very well. It was her locker last year. The Locker. And although her current assigned locker was perfectly fine, she wasn't ready to give up all The Locker's secrets just yet. Although there were quite a few students in the halls during the early morning hours, the space around The Locker was clear. Kat knelt down and smiled as she saw the vaguely star-shaped dent that marked it as hers. She slowly opened green metal door and her smile widened as her eyes met the burst of color that was the interior of her old locker.
Its walls were covered with layers and layers of paper bits, rough, glossy, torn-edged journal excerpts, colorful construction paper, magazine cutouts, sketches, a broken bit of mirror, all plastered, taped, glued, somehow attached on, to the point that none of the cold green metal showed. The bottom was littered with glitter and dust, and blobs of dried paint from when she stashed paint bottles saved specially for friday afternoons. Good times. And if Kat looked hard enough, she could see the shadow the thickest scrap of paper in the top corner cast as it stuck out slightly, only hinting at her most well-kept secret. If anyone were to learn of it, they would deem it slightly interesting but completely unimportant. But it was special to her.
((I'll add more later. I didn't intend to keep the story moving, just a little something that showed what Kat was like.))
"Hey Kat. How are... What are you doing at this locker? I thought that one was yours?" Jared asks as he points to a locker on the other side of the hall.
Kat's eyes, slightly widened, stared at the finger pointing to her assigned locker without really seeing it, her face blank. Then they whipped quickly to the inside of the locker, and then to Jared's face."This one? Oh..Well. It's-it's just a locker that Annie and I share for...extra room. Yeah. This year we have alot more stuff and thought it would be easier to split an extra locker..." she trailed off, still looking at Jared's face to see if he was buying it.
Jared's face clearly said that he didn't buy it for a second, but he decided to let it go. "Oh. If you say so. How are you Kat?"
Slightly sheepish, Kat mumbled something that sounded like, "'M alright." and cleared her throat. "So...any special classes you're taking this year? Can't wait to start Painting/Art History, finally, they didn't let me in last year." As if it were an afterthought she added, "Oh, and Creative Writing. Had extra room in my schedule."
"You've got creative writing?! I'm so jealous!!! I would love to take that class... I don't really have any special classes, just the regular math, social studies, english, and science..." He makes a face. "Ugh... Well, what'd your parents say about going to a movie with our friends this weekend?"
((Gotta go for now. Be back later))
((Gotta go for now. Be back later))
Kat flipped through her mental planner. "Sounds alright. They'd be fine with it. Who else is comi--""KITTY KAT!" came a squeal from not very far away, making Kat wince and brace herself for the inevitable lurch that came when Annie hurtled toward her, throwing her arms around her from behind and setting her sharp chin on Kat's shoulder.
"You know I hate it when you call me that." Kat grumbles, scrunching her shoulders as Annie's messy brown hair tickled her neck.
"Oh, I can't help it, you're so adorable sometimes," Annie said promptly, ruffling Kat's hair and making her wince again.
"So," Annie turned her amber eyes toward Jared, still resting her head on Kat's shoulder, "Did you tell Kat about the movies this weekend? Huh? Huh?"
Kat rolled her eyes.
Walking down the hallway, he noticed the commotion around the girl and her screaming friend."Idiots" he scoffed, he threw his black hair from his face and watched them with his blue eyes as he drew his books from his locker, he now had Creative Writing. 'This should be fun.' he thought.
Joshua started to stalk away when he walked into Annie. Both fell over and books flew everywhere, as well as dozens of loose sheets of Joshua's."Watch it" he growled.
"Yo! Watch it man," Jared called to Joshua as they both bent to pick up items along the floor-Jared to pick up Annie's and Joshua his own.
As Annie walks away, he turns to Thomas. "I saw that," he says, inclining his head towards Annie.
Chases after Thomas and mock punches his shoulder. "Of course not. So what are we doing in Harvey's today?"
"Well, hmm" Thomas tripped over someone tying their shoelace and smacked into a wall. "Okay, ow" he groaned.
"Anything that doesn't involve walking into walls" Thomas rubbed the bruise that was bound to form on his head. "What have we got now?"
"Right sorry" Thomas shook his head. "Black out maybe?" Thomas strolled across the hall and walked into the science lab. He sat down in his usual place and thought about Annie for a second before Jared sat down beside him.
Tha short, stout man with a large white moustache entered. Harvey was not fun to be around. Thomas opened his excercise as Annie entered and sat down.
Jared scirbbled something on a note and passed it to Annie, but Harvey caught it.
"Well, well, what have we here?" She opened the note and began reading it aloud.
"You seem to light up around T, you know?"
Jared saw Annie blush

Thomas choked while taking a sip of water from his water bottle. An explosion of laughter echoed around them. Thomas shrank into his seat.
((Haha, I love drama. :))
"Detention for a week, Jared; or should I call you J?"
The class snickered.

Thomas stuck up his hand and asked to go to the bathroom. Harvey tossed him a pass and he stepped outside. On entering he discovered the last person he cared to at this time. Joshua."Damn" he muttered.
The door barely finished closing when the class fell silent, becoming aware of new prey in the room.
A new kid, around five feet with straight jet-black hair was standing in the doorway. "Hi... I'm new?" She said like it was a question.
Harvey barely glanced at her before directing her to the empty seat on the other side of Annie

"Idiot" Joshua rolled his eyes. "What!?" It was a bad time to aggravate Thomas.
"Idiots. You and your degenerate friends" Joshua replied a moment before Thomas' fist hit him in the face.
Harvey glanced at the clock. "J," the class roared with laughter this time," go check on T," another roar of laughter acompanied by a small smile this time, "he's been gone a while."
"Yes Ms. Harvey," Jared replied automatically.
((Gotta go!))
"Yes Ms. Harvey," Jared replied automatically.
((Gotta go!))
The sound of a fight echoed through the halls. Harvey spun and threw the door open. Shouts of "fight!fight!" Thomas and Joshua were both bloody from punches. Joshua slammed his foot into Thomas' heel and smashed him into a wall.
It only took once glance through the doorway at the commotion in the hallway for Annie to turn away and mutter, "That was not something I wanted to see."Annie smiled at the new girl. "What do you think?" she asked, indicating the two boys outside. "And they say girls are dramatic."
The new girl laughed quietly. "Yeah. That's high school."
Annie laughed a little too. "So, I don't think I know your name?"
(Kaleb is the new girl an actual character of yours or something random?))
Jared jumps in between the two boys and shoves them both as hard as he can. Joshua is thrown into the waiting arms of an administrator, and Jared pins Thomas against the wall.
"You idiot!" Jared screams at Thomas. "What the hell are you thinking?"
