I "heart" Morelli discussion

Stephanie Plum is chasing down what may turn out to be the hardest FTA to catch since Ranger. Retired mobester Eddie CeChooch, one of her Grandma Mauzer's boyfriends. After escaping Stephanie at his apartment Stephanie discovers a dead bodu in his garage. Then Dougie "the Dealer" disappears, and Moonman shows up at her apartment needing help. Then the worse possible thing you could imagine happens Stephanie's perfect older sister decided to move home!!!!!! Now Morelli is mad at Steph because she wont give up her job, her sister wants to be a bounty hunter, she cant find Dougie and now Moonman is missing, the bi**ch Joyce is trying to horn in on her FTA and to top all that off she asks Ranger to help bring Eddie DeChooch in and he agress on one condition she spend one night with him. Its just another day in the life of Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter.

Morelli and Steph conversation:
"We've talked about it, and Bob has agreed to be my best man," Morelli said.
"So there's going to be a wedding?"
"I thought you bought a dress."
I scooped out some shrimp stuff. "It's on hold."
"What's the problem?"
"I don't want a big wedding. It feels dopey. But my grandmother and my mother keep dragging me into one. All of a sudden I've got this dress on. And then next thing we've got a hall reserved. It's like someone sucked my mind out of my head."
"Maybe we should just go get marries."
"When?"
"Can't be tonight. The Rangers are playing. Tomorrow? Wednesday?"
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah. Are you going to eat that last egg roll?"

"At first I didn't realize I was kidnapped. I thought it was some kinky sex thing."

Favorite scene: Stephanie, Lulu, and Valorie go to the bar where Mary mud wrestles to talk to Mary. And Lulu and Stephanie end up in the ring. Then she goes to Morelli's coverd in mud.

Stephanie Plum - Galactic Princess. Well... OK, that was the plan in her childhood. She's actually a bounty hunter now.

Joe Morelli - Bad kid who grew up to be a good cop. He's still trouble, but he's the kind of trouble that women like.

Vinnie - Stephanie's cousin and employer. He looks like a ferret and if you believe the graffiti, he humps like one too.

Eddie DeChooch - An old guy who kills people. He is a FTA now, charged with smuggling cigarettes.

Ranger - Soldier of fortune type of guy who takes work as a bounty hunter. He's good in a variety of ways, and he's scary as hell.

Connie Rosolli - Vinnie's office manager. She runs the business while Vinnie pursues various perversions. She's got big hair, big boobs and a mustache.

Lula - Vinnie's filing clerk and Stephanie's sometime sidekick. She's a big lady with a tight wardrobe and she takes no grief.

Valerie - Stephanie's sister. Up until now she has been the perfect daughter, but she has run into some marital problems.

Loretta Ricci - Woman that Stephanie found with five bullet holes in her head.

Carl Costanza - Trenton cop who always seems to be around when Stephanie has a disaster.

Big Dog - Costanza'a partner.

Mooner - Stephanie's spaced-out friend Walter Dunphy. He is widely known for experimenting with pharmaceuticals.

Helen Plum - Stephanie's long-suffering mother. She uses ironing and tippling to help her cope

Rex - Stephanie's curiously long-lived hamster.

Grandma Mazur - Stephanie's grandmother. She moved in with Stephanie's parents when Grandfather Mazur took his bucket of quarters to the big poker slot machine in the sky.

Frank Plum - Stephanie's father. Grandma Mazur gets under his skin, but he doesn't say much about it... that anyone can make out.

Ziggy Garvey - Friend of Eddie DeChooch.

Benny Colucci - Friend of Eddie DeChooch.

Ronald DeChooch - Eddie DeChooch's nephew. He runs Ace Pavers and imagines himself to be quite the ladies' man.

Dougie Kruper - AKA "The Dealer". Mooner's pal. He was recently busted for fencing stolen goods, but it was more of a community service.

Bob - Stephanie and Morelli's dog. He's a cross between a golden retriever and Chewbacca.

Joyce Barnhardt - Stephanie's arch enemy. Years ago, she boinked Stephanie's husband (now ex-husband). Stephanie gets back at her by taking Bob to poop on her lawn.

Uncle Bingo - Connie's uncle, who is also looking for Eddie DeChooch.

Aunt Flo - Connie's aunt, who says that something went wrong when Eddie DeChooch went down to Virginia.

Angie - Valerie's daughter. She's eight years old... going on forty.

Mary Alice - Valerie's daughter who thinks she's a horse.

Louie D - A big "businessman" who recently died of a heart attack. He was mixed up with Eddie DeChooch somehow.

Estelle Colucci - Louie D's sister, and Benny Colucci's wife.

Father Carolli - Priest who is old as dirt and has lived in the Burg forever.

Eddie Gazarra - Trenton cop and long-time friend of Stephanie. He's married to her cousin, Shirley-the-Whiner.

Mary Maggie Mason - Works at the Snake Pit as a mud wrestler. She is a local star.

Pinwheel Soba - Part owner of The Snake Pit. He's currently in Miami.

Carmine Scallari - Word is Grandma Bella gave him the eye and he couldn't "perform" anymore.
Mrs. Dugan - Purveyor of Burg gossip.

Melvin Baylor - He got arrested for peeing on his ex-wife's wedding cake at her reception. Now he is a FTA.

Janice Molnari - Joyce Barnhardt's partner. She's an OK person, so it's hard to say how she got mixed up with Joyce.

Loretta Beeber - A mutual acquaintance of Stephanie and Janice Molnari.

Animal - One of the female mud wrestlers down at The Snake Pit.

Sophia DeStephano - Louie D's wife.

Joe Juniak - Trenton's police chief.

Tank - One of Ranger's employees.

I love it! Joyce breaks a leg, and Bob keeps crapping in her yard! I think Stephanie should keep riding the Harley. She obviously has better luck with it than any of her cars! I wish she'd stop dissing Joe.

I have to wait for 8 from the library. Dang it!!

I'll finally be starting this book next. Not that this has anything to do with this book.... but did anyone check out the Simpsons tonight? Flanders and Homer were bounty hunters so of course these books came to mind. :)

Loved this book! I am dying to know what happened at the end with Ranger! I like the introduction of the sister and hope she is in other books as well!

Just finished this book. I liked that Mooner and Dougie were back and how Stephanie felt like their mother.

I woke my sleeping husband up because I was laughing so hard when Stephanie and Lulu got thrown into the mud wrestling match.

Mud wrestling is great! Seeing Lula like that would be crazy!

I was banned from the bedroom when we had a waterbed because I was laughing so hard while reading one of these books. LOL
