I read this a month or so ago, knowing I'd want to read it again. I love an intense relationship that is subtle and gently unfolding. That's Charles and Anna's relationship. I finished Cry Wolf today, and I decided I had to reread this story. I have a feeling I will reread these stories many times. This is something I don't do much lately, but they are worth it.
I started rereading this again. So much going on in this short story. The way Charles and Anna interact just burrows deep into my heart.
I'm a sucker for romance, and I always real be. This is a really good romance, IMHO.

This short story totally grabbed me too. Enough that I went on Patricia Briggs' website to see if she would be writing a full length book about them and was excited that she would. They are a great couple.
I will say that this story grabbed me too. I was very interesting in seeing where she took the story from there.
I know isn't he Sherri! I have a major crush on him. He's really sweet in the first full size story too.
Wait until you read Cry Wolf. You'll totally be smitten after that. Anna and Charles are such a great couple. I just love them!
I hope that she can make a long series out of Anna and Charles' story. I could read many books on them. I think someone said that at present she has only signed 3 more books with her publisher. 1 for Mercy, 1 for Anna and Charles and possibly 1 for Samuel.

Oh wow. That is dissapointing. I am guessing Samuel's would be with the Fae character from Silver Borne. It would be nice to see Samuel happy and in love -- I really like his character. I did wonder at the end of Silver Borne, now that the triangle is resolved, now that Samuel is with his love again and now that Mercy is full accepted into the pack and mated with Adam -- where does this go? Those were all underlying struggles that Mercy was dealing with. I really like Patricia Briggs's voice, I hope she keeps writing both series.
Just thought I would share this...I'm giving away a signed copy of this
anthology containing this novella by Patricia Briggs.Ends March 10

I've reread this one too-love it so much! I wish she'd release a new edition of Cry Wolf with this included-it adds so much to the story and sets up the novels so well.Fair Game is coming out Match 6-hurray!
was a pretty good book with the exception of SUNNY's novella...I HATED that one...it did not made any sense.

YUP... it was really all nonsense!!!!! I love PNR specially the sexy kind but Sunny's story was just bad!!!!!
I missed that there was a short story until after I read the first book. I kept thinking it was a strange way to start a book, leaving out everything from Chicago and Anna and Charles wolf's mating! I guess I will have to find it and read it!
Tina--I think you can get it for like 99cents for Kindle and Nook. Or at least, it was available at one point in time for that. Try Patty's web-site too.
And some narrator's should be fired and NEVER allowed to do another book. The narrator who did Metro Girl seriously sucked. If I hadn't read the book first and KNEW that it was good, I probably would have decided that Janet Evanovich couldn't write and would have never read another book by her again. I don't even remember who it was (other than female) but it ALSO turned me off of audio books for a very long time. I'm only just starting to gingerly get back into listening to them.

Book Description:
Anna Latham never knew werewolves existed, until the night she survived a violent attack... and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the Chicago pack, she's learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But when she discovers wrongdoing in her pack, she has to go above her Alpha's head to ask for help.Charles Cornick is the son -- and enforcer -- of the leader of the North American werewolves. Now his father has sent him to Chicago to clean up a problem there. Charles never expected to find Anna, a rare Omega wolf -- and he certainly never expected to recognize her as his mate...
