Fiona wrote: "2. Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami"You need to include the category or it won't count (I know from experience).

Cat. 1: Fordlandia: The Rise and Fall of Henry Ford's Forgotten Jungle City by Greg GrandinI felt bad for Cat. 1. It's like the plain stepsister of glamorous, worldly Cat. 2.
Shhh, Cat 1. You're pretty in your own way.Bridgit, I just heard about Raw Shark Texts a few days ago and thought it sounded wicked interesting. I almost nominated it. Nice one. :)
(But you should link the author too!)
Its not a pity vote, its rational choice - the less people have nominated for a category, the more likely my book will win. LOL.
Bridgit- Although The Raw Shark Texts is an interesting book it has already been a group read in the past and can't be nominated again I believe...

RST was recommended to me last year by a friend who saw that i was reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and said I would love it. It has been on my shelf for months, but am planning on getting to it in the next 3-4 weeks! Very excited!

well look at that - who knew. I rescind my nomination. It happens. :) C'mon, nominate something else. You always seem to be reading something good.
You gotta link the title and author, Matthew. Click "Add book/author" to do it. And I hope you do do it, 'cause I'd totally be into reading Pompeii.
Mitzie wrote: "I'd like to nominate The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons for Category 1."That sounds really good Mitzie!
Any of those . . . in particular, I'd like to see The Moon and Sixpence by W. Somerset Maugham . . . anything by Somerset Maugham. It's my 2k10 project, to read all his works.

He's one of my absolute favorites
I've never heard of him before. His books sound crazy weird/cool! I almost might have to vote for that instead of my nomination, Adrienne.
Just a heads up... Its not necessary to link the author and title, they just have to BE there! Linking them is nice becuase it gives everyone an opportunity to check them out and see what they are about... but really, it wont get your nomination kicked out.
The three necessary things in order to have a nomination count are:
the category you nominate it for
the author name
the title

We will have two catagories this month:
Cat1- Regular Fiction/Non-Fiction
Cat2- International Fiction (A book that was translated from it's original language)
Only ONE nomination per person.
If you nominate a book for catagory 1, you CANNOT nominate a book for catagory 2, and visa versa.
Please be sure to post the title, author, and the catagory it belongs to.
If your post does not have those three things, it will not be counted.
Are you ready?
I will accept nominations through Wednesday morning. If we get tons of nominations, I may pull the plug on it a little early, so get them in as soon as you can!
Once I close nominations I will create the polls and let you know when it is time to vote!
Hit us with your best noms!
