True Blood
I am hooked... a bonafied 'V' addict through and through.. all I have been doing is watching the series, and reading the books... I have only watched the first 7 episodes of season 1... waiting for 2nd season DVD to come out in May, and apparently the 3rd season starts in June... Atleast I thought I read that somewhere...
yeah I love the show, drama, Eric and southern fling all rolled in one...who couldn't love it?! Sookie's brother is a hoot too!
Season 2 comes out on DVD/Blueray on May 25, Season 3 premieres on HBO on Sunday, June 13.If you get to be completely obsessed, you can import a widget that does the countdown to season 3 in days, hours, mins, secs....together with a picture of Bill...sigh.
Ok...I LOVE True Blood.Eric is my favourite, hands down. He is so sexy, arrogant and dangersous. Just how a vampire should be.
My second favourite character is Lafayette, who is actually killed off in book two. What??? He's one of the funniest characters they have. I love him.
I love Jason, he's such a cutie and a little rascal, so how could you not. I'm glad he gets more screen time in the show than he does in the books.
Hoyt is such a doll too, especially once you get into season two (which doesn't happen in the book,so I'm thrilled his storyline was added to the show).
Now, characters I don't like:
Tara, she's just icky.
Bill, makes me puke in my mouth, he's on the lame end of the powerful vampire spectrum.
Sookie doesn't fall into the love or hate category. I can take her or leave her. She's not that hot and she sure knows how to play the field. But she is also occasionaly resourceful and funny.
I love Hoyt. I want to punch his mama in the face but she is a riot. I love his GF the young red head vamp.
I am not a Bill or Eric fan. But If I had to pick I would go with Eric.
Bill is to damn short and I get so aggravated every time he says Soooookie....... errrrrr......
Just another update from an obsessed fan -- starting May 2 on HBO they are playing "mini-episodes" after the replay of the season 2 episode. These are new, not from seasons 1 or 2 and won't be part of season 3. You can watch them on HBO or go to www.trueblood-news.comHappy viewing!
Just started season 2 last night... we watched the first 3 episodes... I can't seem to get enough. I think, I would easily be one of those people who would be able to sit down, watch all 12 episodes in one sitting... if it wasn't for 3 boys, a husband, work, a house to run, and basic personal hygeine that is...

So we watched the next 3 episodes last nite.. So Bloody (pun intended) good... Way more daring than the first season, by far. And yes, Heather is ranking higher on the 'hotness scale' with us girls...

Eric fans, here is a link for you -- it's one of the new webisodes to keep us happy until June 13. This clip is awesome. (post a message if it doesn't work, I'll try to fix)http://www.trueblood-news.com/true-bl...

Ok, finally found it on youtube. So good. I love Eric and Pam. This clip (or mini episode, or whatever) was too cute.
Lovin it.... Had to miss last Sunday, cause one of our trio bailed. So doing a double feature next week instead.
So good! We have to wait two weeks though because of July 4th :(Seriously though, what was with the end of episode 3? I don't want to spoil anything and I get that it was necessary, but why so crazy?
Shell wrote: "Haven't seen it... Shhhhhhh!!! Lol."I didn't say anything...just "crazy" and implied it happened at the end!
Watch it already, dammit!
I have collected all the books up to the newest hard cover..I havent started them yet ..my question is.. are the books or the show or dvd better? someone said the movie is very graphic... will I enjoy the books first?
I love them both. There is some sex in the books. Lots of violence in the books. But the books are 1st person from Sookie's perspective. It's best to take them as 2 seperate things. I do the same with the Bones TV show and books.,
thanks mary..the sex I dont have a problem reading..its..um...how to explain? did you ever read Jennifer Armintrout blood ties series?ok some parts were very graphic in the violence dept...ripping hearts out..ect..I loved the series..it was a great story & had some romance (the ending the best)but I did have trouble sleeping some nights! so III start with the books first & take your advice on the other.

There's some violence in the show, like ripping throats out and stuff, but not gore horror movie type stuff.
Plus the books aren't exactly the same as the series, so you won't know the plot ahead of time.
I don't handle scary movies well and neither the books or the show bothered me. There's some "ew gross" moments but nothing to make you sick or afraid to turn out the lights. To me the show and series are sort of black comedy.
Heather wrote: "Holla!! Anybody watch last nights' episode? I'm watching it today after work!!! So excited."I did! If you are an Eric fan, you'll be a happy camper. Excellent episode - I have absolutely NO idea what's going to happen next.
It was sooooo good! And yes, I'm with Eric all the way... although I do have to admit, Alcide is one sexy SOB!Also, this was probably the funniest episode I've ever seen. So funny! The dialogue was fantastic.
Heather wrote: "Also, this was probably the funniest episode I've ever seen. So funny! The dialogu..."I especially liked Sookie and her "get the f*#& out of here!" comment.
Heather wrote: "Ya and, "I don't have a nut sack." Great!"LOL, I'd forgotten about that one! She does the "break-up" sobbing pretty well too, I thought. Her eyes even looked puffy.
I bet you liked Eric's fantasy scene too?

Yes, I did...can't wait for them to get together.
Anything to ixnay billixay (or however one would say that !!)
Plus, Alexander Skarsgard is a bit of a GOD... just sayin
Ixnay Billixnay??? Lol... Good one, even if I don't happen to agree with ya... I still Love Bill.. Eric too, but Bill is like your first love, he will always be with me... :(
Shell wrote: "Ixnay Billixnay??? Lol... Good one, even if I don't happen to agree with ya... I still Love Bill.. Eric too, but Bill is like your first love, he will always be with me... :("Nay to the ixnay! I don't agree either -- Eric certainly is hot, but have you notice how BAD he is shaping up to be this year? Not bad in a naughty way, but bad in a bad way. Hmmm. That doesn't really make much sense, hope you know what I mean.
Bill on the other hand is being very bad in a bad way, but he is tormented about it and it's all to save Sookie. And, he is looking REALLY hot this season.
Mostly, I don't find Bill attractive at all. I don't think he should have bangs and he's too feminine. I like a good prick in my leading man...Shell sometimes says to me, "I'm reading a book and the guy's a real a**hole...you'd like it."
It's just what I go for. But not bad like gross Franklin (who I'm pretty sure they're basing on Mickey from the books), he's icky.
Also, did anybody else think that Debbie Pelt was hideously oogly compared to Alcide's super duper hotness? Who was in charge of casting? And in the books, Calvin is an upstanding citizen who everyone kinda likes. Why is he a drug dealer/yucky guy in the show?
And, I don't think Eric is bad bad...didn't you notice how concerned he was for Pam. He loves her like a brotha from anotha motha. Ya!
Also, Bill really did a great job pulling off the gay scene with Sam...admit it, you probably found it really believable too... Eric wouldn't have been able to pull that one off. Just goes to show you.
But when it's all said and done, please, please, please, everyone love Bill more...makes my odds with Eric that much better!!
Heather wrote: "Also, did anybody else think that Debbie Pelt was hideously oogly compared to Alcide's super duper hotness? Who was in charge of casting? And in the books, Calvin is an upstanding citizen who e..."
You're right about casting, Heather! Except that Debbie looked to me exactly like she should - skanky biker head-banger type. It's Alcide who is WAY too "clean-cut" hot , I think. Not that I don't enjoy looking at that walking 6-pack!
I'd forgotten about Calvin from the books - you're right, he was a nice guy - didn't he want Sookie for a while in one of the books but she turned him down?
You're right about Eric at least in terms of Pam. I've noticed though that he seems more "malevolent" this season. Probably won't hear many "teacup humans" type remarks from him.
That scene with Sam and Bill......I have to confess that when Sam's phone rang and woke him up I said "Oh thank GOD!!" quite loudly in our living room. My husband thinks I'm a goof (as he sits and watches every episode with me, lol).
You can have the tall blonde - I like my vampires dark and tormented.....sigh.
Tammy wrote: "Heather wrote: "Also, did anybody else think that Debbie Pelt was hideously oogly compared to Alcide's super duper hotness? Who was in charge of casting? And in the books, Calvin is an upstandi..."
Perfect Tammy. Works out well in the end for the both of us!
And yes, Calvin was interested in Sookie in the books. Then he hooked up with that werechick that was hired by Debbie's parents to scope out Sookie regarding what happened to her....I hope you read all the books...or this could be a bit of a spoiler for you.
Lol. Way to go Heather... And was that Calvin that Eric kicked ass on? I didn't make the connection at all.

I've seen the past episodes leading up to this season but have been watching a few here and there as a refresh and I really do like this show, it's got everything a Soap Opera Vampire show needs and more!
