Allison Hahaha! I think my most painful memory was that of when I fell at practice while we were running to get water. I slipped on some wet grass and twisted my ankle (in September. It's still not right). I dropped my flute (it was ok), and landed on my bum. So Jordyn and Dylan practically carried me off the field, and Tom grabbed my flute. Luckily, it was toward the end of rehearsals. When it was time to go, Jordyn and Dylan once again practically carried me. Tom, Emily, Savannah, and Meredith carried my things out to my car and flagged down my dad before he got too far. I love my fluties :)

Allison That sounds kind of hilarious. Then my most (emotionally) painful memory was when I fell. At my first competition. I was heartbroken.

message 3: by Allison (new)

Allison It almost did me. I was sure we wouldn't make finals, but we got third in prelims, and third in finals, third over all.

message 4: by Allison (new)

Allison It was. Everyone was so supportive. It was great.

message 5: by Allison (new)

Allison That had to have been amazing. We never know where state's going to be for us. Some years it's at the NFL stadium, some years it's at CSU, and last year it was at a high school stadium :P

message 6: by Allison (new)

Allison Haha, nice :) We got lucky at qualifiers this year. It was at our stadium, so we got home field advantage.

message 7: by Allison (new)

Allison Awww, it couldn't have been that bad. Sadness that you didn't go to state this year. New director? That's what happened to us, it's a miracle we made it to state with that idiot.

message 8: by Allison (new)

Allison Audtition group? And lucky duck, you have a cool director! We had one last year, but Doc retired. We actually had to take a survey about our school today, and it asked us if we could change anything about our school. Me and three other guys in my English class all put "The Band Director." We didn't plan it.

message 9: by Allison (new)

Allison Wow. Really not cool.

message 10: by Allison (new)

Allison Ahhhh. I see. We've had pretty good seasons for a long time. Are you limiting who can march? Or just in some other way.

message 11: by Allison (new)

Allison Wow. So about how many people?

message 12: by Allison (new)

Allison We have about 100, with colorguard and pit and everyone marching.

message 13: by Allison (new)

Allison You actually spelled that right. Our (former?)sister school is a division below us, 4A (we're 5A, the big schools). They're twice our size.

message 14: by Allison (new)

Allison Well, then good luck!

message 15: by Allison (new)

Allison You're welcome!

Physically: Brandon kept coming over and hitting my head... -.-'
other: knowing that Brandons life and my life are a bit connected...o.o

Annie Worst memory?
We had a crap xylophone, went out to the field with the band for practice, came back. On our way back it fell. Random shirtless boy tried to help us fix it, and so my friend went off with it and I took his vibes.
The xylo came back in pieces and I cried.

message 21: by Annie (new)

Annie Our band is tiny. 64 members TOTAL. Only a 2A.

message 22: by Laura (new)

Laura I passed out the first day of band camp. That was basically the only time anyone felt light-headed and only me and my pal Mike actually fainted.
My theory: The 'trainer guy' made us run two laps around the track before we started and it was around noon so the sun was WAY overhead.

My band is tiny. 40 with NO color guard and including two drum majors.

Neno Banks | 4 comments The Tail Of The Stage Punch. Well my friend Anne took this class on stage violence. And so she knows how to make a fake punch look real. So the band was waiting in the park out side Abrovenal Hall, until it was our turn to get in line to march the Days of 47 parade in Salt Lake City ( it's the biggest parade in Utah 4 to five miles long ). So the flute section was just talking to each other when Anne went up to me and did a stage punch without warning. I was so surprised I fell to the ground in shock. I hit my head on the ground so it really looked real. And my section leader was just as surprised as I was. Her mouth was open and, her piccolo could have fallen from her hand if someone in our section didn't grab it as she stepped forward and said "did you punch him". Anne just stood there laughing. After I explained it was a stage punch she looked at Anne and yelled " don't kill off my section " and stormed away.
