I didn't know he was getting his own series. He is not my favorite within this series, but I will read the new one.

I'd love to see Dani in a series, but you're right. Christian is a good character, but he's been so secondary in the books that he doesn't really have much of an identifiable personality.
I'm wondering if Christian's uncles will appear somewhere in the last Fever book. Barrons went to work with them when the walls fell in Dublin, but we've never seen them yet. I'm still trying to figure out what ideas she could have for Christian to make a book out of. The books are from Mac's POV, so I don't know how she'd get to meet them to see Christian return. Unless she meets him in faerie.
Didn't Karen mention that we might get some of Barrons POV in Shadowfever? If so we could have a possible flashback to when the walls fell. I know I'm among many dying to know what happened!
That is awsome that he is getting his own series. I knew that he wouldnt get with Mac but I am kinda glad too. And I would love to have V'Lane's POV. He is a really interesting character and I think that behind the sexual crap that he throws out in the air there is someone that is really amazing. Oh and Christian is hot. I CAN NOT WAIT TILL BARRON'S POV!!! Ug if Dani has a POV I am skipping that section.

I will not read another spin off from this series. I thought i read a long time ago that she would be getting back to her Highlander series as in ROMANCE and I'm hoping she starts w/Christian.
Here's her publisher's April press release:"Delacorte Press has signed Karen Marie Moning for three new novels that will spin off from her New York Times bestselling Fever series, it was announced today by Gina Centrello, President and Publisher of the Random House Publishing Group, who acquired US/Canadian rights from Amy Berkower at Writer’s House. Moning’s longtime editor, Shauna Summers, will edit the books.
“We are delighted to continue our long publishing relationship with Karen,” comments Centrello. “The excitement and devotion Karen has created with the Fever series has been tremendous and we can’t wait to see what she does next.” The four previous novels in Moning’s Fever series were New York Times bestsellers with the last two books debuting at #3. The series also has been sold in 14 languages. Delacorte will publish SHADOWFEVER, the fifth and final novel in the series, in December. Based on the sales growth and monumental enthusiasm of Moning’s fans (commonly known as “Moning Maniacs”) for the series so far, Centrello expects SHADOWFEVER to be Moning’s biggest bestseller yet. To that end, RHPG has a year-long marketing campaign in anticipation of the December publication.
Additionally, Random House, under the Del Rey imprint, has acquired world rights to an original graphic novel by Moning, a story that will link the events of the Fever series with those of her new trilogy. The project will be edited by Betsy Mitchell, Editor-in-Chief of Del Rey. Moning joins Del Rey’s list of other original graphic novels set in the world of such bestselling authors as Dean Koontz, Diana Gabaldon, Jim Butcher and Kim Harrison.
Moning began her writing career at Dell in 1999 and has won many awards including the prestigious RITA award from the Romance Writers of America."
I know I heard somewhere she wanted to do a Christian story. I'm still looking for where I heard that.
Jesslynn, I'm sorry to say that Moning has already stated she will not return to writing straight romance. Her Highlander style books are finished.
That's disappointing. I'll read this last book bcs I want closure after 5 years, but I can't say that I'm eagerly awaiting anymore and I definately won't be picking up a new series she begins. The whole waiting a year in between releases and the 3rd and 4th book seemed to be useless filler.
Really?? I just started reading DG bcs i've heard how freaking great that series is. Which I'll admit, Outlander was fabulous, once you got a 1/4 way through it, but I didn't really appreciate Dragonfly until the very end and it made me cry... a lot.
haha! Ah...that really does suck abt the 5 year wait. Good to know I don't need to rush through Voyage or anything. So I guess back to Christian, if he does get his own story or lives through shadowfever, i think it would be nice if he hooked up w/danni 10 years down the road. She was so cute w/her "oh...he's definately getting my virginity thoughts."
Hahahaha!! I think she's riding around the 16 area, so yeah, right now, ewwww...gross, but in another 10years...Nah...i definately don't think it killed him. and bcs this is UF and Mac's story, I don't think we're going to get an ending w/him. Like he might show up back @ castle Kelter, but he won't be speaking and no one will know what happened to him until she decides to release those next 3 books. I do think that he was probably somehow made impure, if that makes sense bcs supposedly they are the good of all good other than Cian and Deagus.
Doesn't ever really say, but when introduced in the highlanders he was 16. At the most he's 23 or 24, but I don't think it makes sense for him to be older than that.

in dreamfever, mac yells at v'lane for checking dani out because "she's only 13".... i just recently finished listening to the dreamfever audio book so that's still fresh in my memory.
Maybe Christian will be stuck where ever he is and time moves differently so when he comes out he is still the same age and magically Dani is older like 20 or so.
I thought it was Ryodan that checked out Dani in Dreamfever when he was holding her captive. I remember thinking it was sweet cause when Mac said she was only 13, Ryodan said he could wait for her to get older, lol. And then the way the book ended made me sad. The 12 year old girl in me wants to squeal at how cute of an idea a double date between Mac and Barrons and Dani and Ryodan would be, lol!
The beast has to be someone that she really cares about, in order to be able to shatter her...I don't think Christian means that much to her.
the people we knoe that she for sure cares about is her mom, dad, and alina and im sure she cares about barrons even if she wont admit it (hehe) ugh..i dont wanna think about this anymore, it makes my mind hurt...haha. isnt it january yet?
My guess has always been either a family member or barrons. Not that I'm narrowing it down much, am I?
oh, nope. i mean from the ending in dreamfever i kinda assumed it was barrons at first but now thinking it through later i think maybe a family memer or something like that. god, i want another teaser now, please. just a week left til october is over.
I disagree Stacia. I think she cares about Christian, I just don't think Christian would let Barrons ahve that kind of control over him.
I thought the Beast was Barrons when it first showed up. But I started thinking it was Christian because I coudln't imagine Barrons being killed off. My line of thinking came from Christian doing similar dark magic as Barrons. I think at one point in the books it says they can move the "darkness" they get from doing magic onto other people. I figured the beast in the garage is Barrons beast he uses to stay "good" while Christian turned into the Beast beccause he couldn't get rid of all the "darkness."
I mostly came up with it because I couldn't imagine Barrons dying, lol.
I thought it might be Christian too, but I don't think she would kill him off either. She loves her MacKeltars too much. Anyone ever consider her dad? He was somewhere in the mirrors with Darroc. She didn't know for sure that the mirror lead to her house in Ashford. That would suck if she lost her dad too. At this point, I have no clue who the beast is, or if I'm convinced that the beast really was dead. Mac's character has a tendency to over exaggerate, so it's possible the beast wasn't really dead at the end, even with all the poking.
I know the model used as the official pic for Christian was on a book cover as well. Does anyone know the title of it?
I'm still a bit at a loss of how Christian started becoming unseelie, an unseelie prince at that. A combination of that dark ritual and the unseelie Mac fed him or are there other theories!?
Shari-amor wrote: "I'm still a bit at a loss of how Christian started becoming unseelie, an unseelie prince at that. A combination of that dark ritual and the unseelie Mac fed him or are there other theories!?"Shari-amor - I think that is all we know and that Vlane/Cruce and the King both said that in faery things replace themselves. Both Vlane/Cruce and the King hinted at Mac being a princess. Two o fthe princeses were killed. The true V'lane from the light court and Dani killed one unseelie prince of the dark court when they came for Mac in the bottom of the abby when she was priya. Chraitian was in Faery a long time. He even told Mac he think what was happening to him started before she fed him the unseelie flesh. Both Barrons and Christian avoid talking about what they had tried doing on Halloween. I think that is part of the answer.
So I was thinking about Christain and he reminds me a little of his uncle Dageus. The whole fighting the good and evil inside of him. I think the reason Christian is obsessed with Dani is not that he has a thing for her but a bit of her vigor keeps him from truly crossing that line of evil. Its like he's holding the dark side of him at bay, because he knows he could never have anything with Dani if he go's all Dark. He talks a lot about the man he use to be before he started transitioning and wants more then ever to be that person. Dani kinds reminds him of that. The longer he holds on the better is chances of waiting for her as close to his real self.
I thinks he's going to die by Dani's hand or he's going to fully turn and all hell us gonna break loose! Lol
Yeah, I totally agree Shar...he just flips to the Darkside without batting an eye...then turns all Highlander for a sec. Maybe it's cause of the "bad-boy" thing, but I kinda like him...when he's not cramming dead chicks under the bed, that is :( I'm about 70% done & LOVING IT!I ultimately think Dancer is the dude for Dani, though. He's pretty interesting & def cares for her...
Glad your liking it! I get to play it forward after you introduced me to Dorian! LolOmg the dead body under is bed had me reading those lines again ! I was like.. Wait... What?! ...That was so not expected!
I like Dancer too. I think I would like for him to play a part other then protected friend of Dani but I don't see that happening.. Yet?
Samantha maybe Dancer will be ? I like the human factor even though my heart saids otherwise.
I think Dancer will play a part besides her trusted friend. I just don't know if he is the one she will end up with. I don't see it...yet.
I think his views won't change. I think he will fight and his old self will make appearances. He won't be 100% dark. He will keep fighting.
Do you think Christian will attack Mac and Barrons at some point? Since he blames both of them for his transition? Barrons didn't check his protection runes when the walls came down and made sure they were correct, he didn't go into the silvers after him or tell anyone he was there, and Christian sounded like be blamed Barrons when he failed at "playing chicken", but I don't know why his uncles had Christian stand for that part of the ritual. Christian was still a light hearted, smart, pretty boy who had little to no experience in the dark arts, and his uncles who had still had him stand in for that part, even he dad or something should of done it considering how dangerous it was. And then he blames Mac for saving him in the silvers by feeding him Unseelie. He's mentioned a few times how he hates them.
Didn't Dani already tell him that she was the one who killed the Unseelie Prince so he should be mad at her. He refused to be mad at her.

I doubt it. Christian has started to think of Dani as his salvation. His hatred seems to firmly be directed at the Mac train.
I think Christian should get over the Mac thing. It wasn't Barrions job to check him out, but it would of been the right and decent thing to do, which Barrons isn't exactly know for, I do think it was crappy he didn't tell anyone Christian was in the silvers though. And Christian didn't have a whole lot of options it wasn't as if anyone else was looking for him, especially not in the silvers, Mac saved his life she had eaten Unseelie herself and knew other people who did as well, she didn't know something like that would happen and no one told gave her the details about the ritual. And Christian in the prison wasn't her fault either, yet he didn't exactly thank her for getting help to get him out of there. He seems whiny and blaming everyone but himself. And Christian changed sure, but who hasn't been through some messed up stuff, nearly everyone had to change to live in this new world.
